The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Nadya Tetradore
Tonight had been a good night for the young woman. Nadya had finished up a terrific set at the burlesque and left the others to close for the night. It was the beginning of the weekend which meant she got her twins. She had met her parents at the park which had become their drop-off point. As any doting mother she lavished attention on her now two-year old hooligans. There had been nothing for Nadya to think that tonight would be any different than the other weekends. Human form was taken over by that of her ebony jaguar while the twins were helped into theirs by her father being an Alpha of his own pack and thus the only one able to wield such power to help the little ones. The little girl pounced around in her spotted leguar form while the male matched his mother's coat and stuck to playing with her tail.
Nadya hated to see her parents go back but they had their own pack to run. It was different for Nadya since her brother's passing. She no longer went to the Ark, unable to stand seeing his room empty and Tobias' press of stand-in Alpha behavior. She would never submit to his deviant man-child authority. It left Nadya living in Samantha's old place for the moment even though that sorrowful at well. At least it was a familiar place for their little family of 3.
The mother was just leading her cubs back towards the apartment from the park when the sound of screeching and crashing caught her attention. Immediately her ears perked on high alert searching for the source of that sound. Cautiously, Nadya nosed her cubs into a bush for them to remain so she could investigate. She wouldn't take the chance of being caught by Hunters with the twins exposed.
It was only a few yards down that she rounded the street corner to see the wrecked vehicle with smoke billowing from the engine. This late at night and in this part of town it would be a while for another person to come upon it. The panther's nose twitched, lips parting to catch the air particles in search of that familiar Hunter scent. Only when Nadya found none did she creep closer to the machine. One glance within the cab showed both passengers were dead her sensitive hearing caught the sound of thumping within the back of the upturned van which caused the panther's head to tilt in curiosity. Perhaps it was best to step away as the saying did go that curiosity killed the cat. However, there was no scent of a Hunter and therefore Nadya deemed it safe enough to investigate seeing as her kittens were hidden far enough away.
Nadya rounded the van and eyed the bent doors that seemed determined to hang on for dear life to hide its contents. She gave one testing push with a paw to the metal to see how hard of a grasp it had before taking a step back. It wasn't often that she used her abilities, especially the explosive one, but she had practiced long enough that she could control the power of it. She could feel the heat of her ability tingle in her body before unleashing on the hinges of one door so ending its desperate hold with a sharp explosive bang. Nadya snuffed in victory at the metal door that now lay on the ground before proceeding into the hull of the van. There was no light within but that which the open door allowed, casting only light from the street lamps and stars above to cast a ghost over the insides. Though, with Nadya's yellow feline gaze that absorbed all available light it wasn't all too hard to see the contents. The first thing that Nadya noted was the warped cage and then the very soft sound of breathing which drew her attention to the corner where a very small feline indeed was curled up.
It took a moment for the panther to truly register what she was seeing. "Are you ok?" She didn't know if this feline was a Were but her first instinct as always was to check. Slowly her large paws brought her a few steps closer though stopped a good distance from it to prevent scaring it.
