The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
He hoped that in time, Yumi would come to see the way the world saw her instead of just the way she saw herself. He could read her most of the time to know of her self doubts, to know that she didn't think so highly of herself. He thought her one of the smartest people he knew, supernatural world and human included. She loved books and what doesn't scream intelligence like sticking to the old paperbacks when technology is everywhere? He often found enjoyment himself in just turning the pages of a good book rather than scrolling through an EBook. It was just so much more relaxing in his opinion. But her unbiased opinion about everything was highly treasured and he was sure he wasn't the only one who thought this way. Surely Isolt must encourage the vampire when they're together, assure her of her self worth. Damon would expect no different from his fiance with the heart of gold. She was good to everyone she met, whether they deserved it or not and Yumi was certainly a kind soul if ever he'd met one. He thought her very helpful, remembering the time when he first met Isolt and was looking to charm her and had asked Yumi for help. Yumi had jumped right on it, wanting to help him win her over any way she could and he appreciated it then just as he appreciated her wanting to help him save the woman he loved now. He was intrigued by the ability Yumi had when she was feeding, how her personality shifted like the turning of a book page in itself when she drank from someone else. It truly was a wonder to watch and he couldn't get enough of it. He wanted to study it in a way, but of course only if she was willing to show him. It would seem this day he was in luck for she nodded in agreement though she wanted to leave the book store. He couldn't understand why but he wasn't going to push her on it. If she wanted to go elsewhere to hunt then he would allow her to lead him wherever it was she had a craving. He never saw the look the cashier gave her though he might have had a smart word for her if he had. He was always quite possessive over his friends and those he cared about, Yumi amongst them. He had a mean protective instinct when he felt anyone was threatened, physically or otherwise. When he asked what she was wanting, she caught onto the word "fancy," saying she'd never had it before and he raised a brow, his lips tugging into a grin. "Then sounds like you just picked your main entree for today." He quipped as he moved to lead her from the book store. She was all too eager to go and he could tell the minute they got outside that she was much more relaxed. He raised a brow in question. "So one minute you're in heaven within those walls and the next you're suffocating? I'll never begin to understand your kind, not even if I leave another 200 years." He smirked at her teasingly, hoping she would know he was talking about women, not vampires as her kind. If not, he didn't mind spelling it out for her. Then she turned to him, asking where he liked to eat and he chuckled, leaning leisurely against the wall. "It depends on my mood really. But I offered you fancy and that's what I hold myself to give you today. Come with me, my lady." He said with a flourishing bow before her. Straightening, he moved to walk down the sidewalk, already scoping out where he was taking her. Within a few blocks, there was a five star restaurant and lounge where the tables were mostly round booths made to seat 6 or more, made for huge parties and other activities being hosted by the heavily gifted in money. Damon leaned in close as they got close to the body guards. "Just play like you belong and you're already in the club. You got this." Then he turned on his charm full speed, flashing the women a full Damon grin as they moved into the crowd entering the restaurant. As the bartender went to hold up his hand, Damon met his gaze squarely. "Come on, now, lad. Don't ruin the fun. We belong here. Just relax." And, as if on command, the body guard did just that. He smiled meekly at Damon, even dipping his head to Yumi in greeting before he relaxed against the post and waved them on through. Damon leaned his head back toward Yumi to give her a playful wink as they walked in. He moved her off to the side and nudged his head toward the mostly full booths, his eyes gleaming with a devilish light. "See anything that strikes your fancy or should we mingle a little first?" |
