East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

'Thank you, love', those words resonate within her, tugging at the very core of her being. There was a touch of sadness laced within them and she could not quite understand why. The odds were in their favour, even if he didn't know it yet. "Thank me later my darling, this will all be over quick." She coos softly in the most reassuring of ways. Soon he will have no worries to cloud his burdened thoughts.

There wasn't a single shred of doubt within the raven haired temptress' mind that she would not be the victor in this fight. The calculating woman played out many grisly scenes and the probability was in her favour. Any ounce of hesitation that may have waivered the man behind her did not for a single moment in time did deter her hell driven path. The assassins would keep coming after him if she did not annihilate this obvious threat before them both, no she could not have that. She could not have them take what she had claimed as hers, not so soon after she had found him. There was not a moment to be able to think about this unsurmountable sensation driving her onward to face this threat, there was only us vs. them. Her toes curl within those devilish heels, clearing her mind to focus on her illusions. She funnels that concentration into pouring them into this menacing scene before them.

The dragon's barbed tail lashes to and fro like an irate cat, a devilish feral growl rumbling within its throat, its only warning before lashing out its tail fiercely. One of many weapons this creature surely possessed. Petra still thinks of that tender moment they shared before. A lingering tingle upon her cheek still stirs a warmth where he caressed her so tenderly. A moment intended to be shared between lovers and not strangers. She almost sighs like a love besotted fool! But the battle before her sharply yanks her attention to the threat at hand, the only creatures stopping her from exploring these curious emotions with the mysterious man that whisked all selfish lucidity away from here. This was what it was like to be selfless, to care for another's needs over her own desires. For the first time in a long while she was thinking exclusively of someone else other than herself.

'Bloody hell.' He remarks in his disbelief and a smile caused from his approval found its way upon her crimson lips, if only he could see it. Oh he had no inkling what this wicked woman was capable of and she had every intention of sharing this dark secret with him. A dark languid chuckle escapes her, that rich and full bodied sound that seemed both like a lullaby and the last sound you would ever hear, a hymn laced with death and destruction.

Those Italian inflections from the hunter's voices did not go unnoticed to the raven illusionist, her silvery blue eyes honing upon them much like the keen eye of her dragon. One man turned into stone like a human gargoyle, impenetrable by her serpent minions bites. Her porcelain features turn into a wicked sneer. Oh these little powers they flashed at here were child's play and hardly a concern to her odds. You see, her illusions could truly whisk them away to anywhere or nowhere, anyplace she so pleased and concocted. She could have them in a black abyss, no light or anything to illuminate their way, just a suffocating stillness they could not escape without her authority. Not even a vampire could navigate pure black pitch. She ponders hastily, how she wished to eliminate them and how hard she wanted to work for their prophesied demise.

Once the serpents served their purpose, the first battle blow, they withered and disappeared into the ground as if melting into it. Reality around them seems to swell and contract, the very reality they so came to rely on was no longer and replaced with whatever fiendish thoughts she consumed them with.

The stone man did his best attempt at looking daunting and perhaps he would have, if she didn't wield the power that she did. "Am I supposed to be scared, man of stone?" She tilts her head, eyeing the man that advanced upon her like a loud imposing giant would. Perhaps she would like him better as a statue she muses. Petra then summons her familiar power to her fingertip like a static charge shooting from her to knit her desired scene into being, the very illusion that he was merely a statue and nothing else. She made it so his feet were encased in steel, fusing to the ground with that metallic substance. It crept upward his legs like fusing serpents until he was consumed from mid waist down, with only his arms left to thrash about, the rest of him unmoving. "I like you this way." That nightingale voice sang with a hint of mocking laughter in her tone, her eyes roving for the next target like a hungry beast.

Her dragon on the other hand had clearly taken a life of its own, it bellows out into the night like a t-rex on steroids. It was toying with one of the other hunters, his tail pinning the other man against one of the walls of the building. The dragon snaked around, eye to eye with the wriggling mess of a man and moves with such a fluid grace in its predatory glory.

Illusions aside, they had no idea how foolish they looked. It was all a trick of their minds, a figment she created for these dangerous men. Without her illusions they were simply just hunters unable to move with nothing stopping them but the trick of the mind that made them feel as though they were pinned to a wall or anchored to the ground, it was almost comical to witness for her. But her poor Sebastian was under her spell as well and would only be able to see this world of horror she created, even if he was not her target of this unique brand of torture.

The dragon breathed fire against his flesh; the fire charred and ate away at his skin as though he were being efficiently barbequed by the beast. She could hear the man's cries and she feels content, like a lion with her pray helpless within her perilous claws. "Tell me what is it you fear?" She doesn't wait for the man to respond through gasps and ragged screams, in truth she doesn't even know why she asked as she had plans for the man. She could see her dragon before her as real as they did, but she could also see him in reality, pinned by nothing but these illusions she crafted.

Despite her smoke and mirrors, there was something odd she witnessed. It was the gentle trickle of blood that stained their ankles. Interesting. Had her illusions actually harmed these men? Had her illusions been real enough to actually inflict wounds? Well this was new. She frowns for but a brief moment, her features crumbling into a slow wicked smile at the realisation of what she had done without touching a single hair on their heads. Well this was better than to be expected. She struts up to the man being pinned to the well, his breathing seemed as though he were being strangled, her voice pierces the veil with nothing but a whisper. "Tell me, do you know what it feels like to be eaten alive?" She eyes him daringly, searching his face for that acknowledgment of fear or whatever other emotions that might stir.

"Eat him." She states, nonchalantly, as though she controlled the dragon with her voice, only saying it to make the mystical creature more real than it actually was. He wouldn't die (unless his own body gave out on him) but he would certainly think he was being shred to pieces by this beast, plucked from her mind, every last bit crafted within her cunning mind.

She had heard nothing from Sebastion. She had foolishly lost sight of the other one, a pang of what seemed like panic resonated within her chest. "My love? I can't find the fast one. Are you alright? Where is that coward?" Curses, please be alright she uncharacteristically worried. She whirls around, pivoting like a dancer in heels so suddenly it was like a play of the mind. She was confident knowing that the others were not going anywhere so long as her illusions and mind kept them occupied. But what was this? This frantic feeling that washed so completely over her at the very realisation that the man she was destined to keep safe could be fighting for his life.

Once all three were within her control, she would pick them off one by one, but she needed to find the third in order of that to happen. Then this beautiful monster would feast, no, they would feast on the blood of their enemies, but first she had to keep the man she loved safe. Yes this was love was it not? It certainly felt it even though she didn't even know his name. She shook her head, eyes searching to land upon the man she promised to protect at any cost needing to know he was alright and she hadn't made a fatal error.
