i used to rule the world
seas would rise when i gave the word
Alexander knew it was against most code of ethics within any business place. Relationships within the workplace were strictly forbidden - particularly between co-workers and yet, he cared very little if he violated that expected conduct by having that woman he was dating work beneath his own roof. She had needed a job and he hardly had it within him to see her wanting. Certainly it would have been easier to simply provide for her himself but...the kinks in their relationship had only just begun to smooth out and providing her paycheck had been enough to satisfy those age old urges to fulfil those roles that had once been so expected of his gender, King or not. There was something about seeing that lovely slender figure walk through the door that had a way of instantly drawing those blue-green eyes, the hunter only half listening to that drink order he was writing down upon that cup. Rather, he was wholly content to simply watch Alexis as she clocked in, pulling that apron over her uniform. A small soft simper crossed his features as she came to join him, his gaze briefly shifted back towards that customer as he offered him a total and took the money he was provided.
The morning rush tended to go by quickly and today was hardly an exception. Even so, soon enough, those busy hours faded into something far calmer, that lull after lunch wholly welcomed if only for that time it allowed him to spend with the woman he'd come to find himself affectionate with. He knew well her shift was almost over and yet, Alexander was entirely content to utilize that remaining time to fulfil at least one of his promises to her - to teach her more than just the writing of those orders on those to go cups. He stood behind her, one hand settled on the girl's waist as he led her through the various colorful buttons upon that screen. Alexander had little doubt of her ability to one day take that role of cashier and yet, until that moment she was ready to take on those often disagreeable customers, he was wholly content to run the woman at his side through various made up orders to get comfortable with that screen. She was certainly getting better with it, finding the button for those extra condiments had only taken the girl half the time it had in comparison to their last attempt and yet, the astute Macedonian man was well aware of those altogether subtle hints of frustration on her fair feminine features.
His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her away from that computer device as he turned her to face him, the man entirely willing to let that conversation shift to far more...enjoyable topics then that business he ran. "Are you excited about riding tomorrow?" He inquired, asking of that date the pair had planned for the following evening. It would be their first planned date outside of those chance encounters and the hours in which he asked her to work at that cafe. It was his first true effort to court her and yet, he still found himself inquisitive if she was looking forward to that date. The man paused, a small simper fluttered across his features before he added in a tone entirely teasing, "Did you figure out your wardrobe yet?" After all, those concerns of 'what-to-wear' had been near the first thing to leave her lips when he had suggested an evening together and Alexander saw little reason to not appreciate that astute care she intended to put in her outfit. It was the sound of that bell on the front door that caused his gaze to shift from Alexis and yet, the last person Alexander had expected was the very one those aged blue-green eyes landed upon.
