The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She wasn't expecting a free drink when she walked through the door of that pub but it certainly wasn't the kind of drink she was used to. She'd taken a sip of Tetradore's drink before and it was way too bitter for her taste and left her throat burning. She liked the fruity textures better since they reminded her of eating berries as a coyote in the woods. Less burn and yet she still got that rich buzz she was starting to recognize. She'd only been drinking twice so far but she found she rather liked the light airy feeling she got after a few of those fruity drinks. This stuff would probably just knock her on her ass. She glanced up as someone else spoke instead of the man she was speaking too. Arching a brow, she leaned forward on her stool to eye the next man down. Cutie? She'd never been called that before. She scowled thoughtfully. He was offering to take the drink so she shrugged. "Sure, have it." She was about to push the drink down to him when the first man grabbed it first, telling the other man that he could have it but don't call him cutie. Malia tilted her head, brows furrowed in confusion. Was this a thing? She leaned forward again to look at the man who wanted the whiskey. "Were you calling him or me cutie? Maybe I misunderstood." There is no sarcasm in her tone, only genuine interest. So males sometimes flirted with other males? This was news to her. In the wild, coyotes mated male and female always. Of course that was the only way for litters to be produced, at least as far as she knew. Sure, there was sometimes close bonds between two females or two males but never anything more intimate than companionship. Sometimes a female would stick close to another female after the death of her mate in her grieving process, bonding with the female, but it's not like they acted like mates or anything like that. How would two men....? She wasn't even sure she wanted an answer for that. Then she was distracted by the man who slid the drink to the other man, who then pulled more money out and told the bartender to get whatever she wanted. Malia's brows raised as the bartender turned to her. "Uh...." she racked her brain, trying to think of what Tetradore or Henry had gotten her. "Strawberry daiquiri? I think that's what it was called." She must not have been that far off because the bartender gave her a puzzled expression for only a moment before he nodded and started mixing something up. It smelled right anyway when he finally slid it over to her. She took an experimental sip and her eyes lit up. "Mm, yeah that's it! Thank you!" She grinned at the bartender before turning to the man beside her as he took a big sip from his own drink. She wrinkled her nose. "I don't see how you guys drink that stuff. Tastes like antifreeze if you ask me." |
