East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Conifer leaned back in the big, comfortable, leather chair that his boss had bought for him while he was behind the counter. The scent of old things; furniture, books, clothes, and other odd little ends, lulled him into a half awake trance that was as comforting to him as Hague House had once been, a long time ago. Things had been quiet for the past week in the antique store and in his nightly repasts. It was comfortable, and while he didn't trust the quiet or for it to last he was going to take advantage of it while he could. So he people watched. Sacrosanct was a city for people watching.
He was jerked to full wakefulness when he saw two women squaring off in the street just about in front of the store. They were both gorgeous of course and seemingly they had bumped into one another. The one in the dress... was that the Cheshire Cat? It was. He smiled a little at that though she flipped the other girl off while the girl in the tank top rounded on her. Just what he needed. A fight to scare off what little customers he was getting that day. He unfolded his long legs and stood with a sigh, almost hitting his head on the beam of the ceiling. He growled out a "fuck" and opened up the stained glass paneled door of the antique shop.

"Sorry to interrupt." He said dryly, deep voice low. "But if you're going to fight or argue, I would appreciate if you did it somewhere else. Business is bad enough without the bloodshed."

He didn't think it was about to come to that, but one never really knew in Sacrosanct.
