The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
He was persistent, Damon had to give him that. It seemed every time he thought him defeated, Arlo would set his sights on the vampires walking away and get a new wave of longing. His hunger really knew no bounds. He wasn't kidding at all about having no control. He needed Damon's help, ASAP. It took more than a couple times before the vampire teleported to the chair, relaxing there for a second as Damon continued to channel the energy from Arlo's own powers, storing them for use if he needed it again. As long as Arlo stayed grounded in that chair and showed no move to go after anyone then Damon would leave him be. Finally it seemed to hit the vampire that Damon might be responsible, something flickering in his eyes before he curled his lips back, showing fangs. Damon only chuckled in response, raising his brow in challenge as if to say "go on, try it." Seeming to think better of it, Arlo finally gave a huff and crossed his arms. He could see Arlo at least letting the words sink in as he explained that he should practice control over the hunger. He had just had more than a feel of both vampires' blood. It should have been more than enough to fill him and yet he seemed to have more of a desire to stake his claim on every vampire he fed off of. That's probably why he didn't leave many survivors. Damon had to help remedy that somehow. Arlo would keep under the radar better if he was taught how to leave survivors. Of course it would help if he knew how to erase memories like Damon but he at least had his venom to put them in a sleep-like state so that should keep them subdued so maybe by the time they woke up, they wouldn't know what had happened, anyway. It was like Arlo had his own defense mechanism against detection. That is, if he was more capable of watching his own surroundings while eating. He was too consumed by the hunger so he kept getting caught. He would only continue to make enemies like that. "You need to keep your wits about you. You're so damn concerned about satisfying the hunger that you forget where you are. The sooner you control the hunger, the sooner you can stay undetected by other vampires. You need to stay aware, even while you're feeding. Not this food possession bull. That won't keep you alive. Awareness will." Damon smirked and shook his head when Arlo said that someone had told him he would grow out of being hungry all the time. "It's not something you can grow out of. Believe me, I know. I would still be taking out whole cities just for the fun of it if I hadn't made the decision to control it. My own brother goes right back to day one as a vampire every time he flips his humanity switch. He can't get enough blood to satisfy him. It's rather annoying." He scowled at the thought of having cleaned up his brother's messes more than a few times. Arlo finally reached out to finish the drink before saying he didn't need anymore lessons. Damon raised a brow. "That depends on you." Then he asked about a ride home and Damon leaned back in his chair with a chuckle. "I guess I can arrange that. Didn't want to just teleport there?" He smirked before raising from his chair, figuring if Arlo was bringing it up then he was probably ready to get back home. |
