The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we built this city on broken glass
His fingers slid smoothly down what remained of that gingerbread man, rotating that mangled cookie body almost mechanically within his hands before plucking off any part that jutted out even slightly and lifting it to his lips. He enjoyed the taste. That mix of spice and sweetness appealing to him and yet his features remained near as bland and expressionless as always, hardly betraying even an ounce of that pleasure he took from that simple reaction beyond that admittance to the woman her baking was pleasing. Frost perhaps well suited to his name in those very moments in which his moniker so seemed to exemplify his equally cold nature. Those emotions remaining illusive to him at the best of times. His comment upon her pilfered trinket only seemed to prompt some further manner of consideration in the girl. Raven falling silent then and yet he hardly made an effort to pry into her mind. He had no care for her thoughts. He had seen them before and they were her own to keep. Besides, he was near assured he could guess at them if he desired. Plucking them from her mind one by one by one. The stallion snapping off a little more of that gingerbread in turn. He was nearly finished this one. He would surely need another. His idle comment upon her falsified righteousness hardly seeming to impress her and yet he had so deduced little about him would ever impress that woman- so why try? He had little desire to appeal to her in any sense. Her opinions of him meant little and yet her opinions upon herself seemed a constant irritant to him. What little could be seen of his eyes narrowing slightly at that admittance she had not meant to take that amulet or kill that pack. What a perfect fool of a girl she was.
"You did mean to kill them and you did mean to take it. They deserved to die, all of them, I know what they did to you. What I do not know is why you feel you need atone for it. What's done is done. Own it and move on."
Why she seemed so incapable of letting go of that past he hardly knew. Perhaps, to some extent, he was equally as jaded about his own beginnings and yet he so hardly acted as if he had not done what he had done. He had murdered more Hunters then another other Were had managed in a single assault. He had contributed to the deaths of his own siblings and species. He had lied, cheated and stolen his way through Europe and he continued to do much the same here when it pleased him. He could not erase what had been and perhaps, given such hindsight there were some actions he might change. Yet such was the beauty of hindsight. It allowed for a clarity of thought not present before the undertaken task itself. It was a fools gold. One that bred regret and regret was one of the more vile poisons he knew. One Raven herself was afflicted with. She had done what she had needed to survive- just as she had. He paid those he had killed no second thoughts, for they would not have paid him one had their roles been reversed. Why Raven could not do the same he hardly knew. The woman clinging to that past as if it defined her. Perhaps she merely required a patience and understanding he was incapable of giving. Her assurance she was not being righteous met with nothing more than a snort of derision. That singular sound surely indicating exactly his thoughts upon that. Raven and her morals.
Her nearly teasing comment upo that apparent existence off his heart seemed to prompt the vaguest hint of amusement from the stallion himself. Frost assured she should be pleased he had not year learned how he might survive on that wit, sarcasm and disdain alone- for he would surely not need a heart at all were he capable of that. The stallion inclined to consider how much more efficient he might be if what little emotion remained within him could be removed altogether and yet, a part of him would be displeased to lose that which he had with Nadya all the same. Raven abruptly assuring him he also required sugar. Frost's shoulders lifting slightly in that near shrug as he finished the last of that gingerbread man and reached for another to begin that process of dismemberment all over again. His head nodding at last.
"Fair call."
She was right, after all, he did delight in that sugar. Even if Alexander constantly assured him he would gain all measure of weight if he continued to consume it at the rates he did. Frost assured that exercise they partook off nearly every night surely worked it off all the same. Even so, his attention shifted towards those amulets the woman had come to discuss, the idea that Hunter whom had been the source of so much grief for them both had taken up pursuing them was...curious to say the least. They could be sold for high prices, of that he was sure. Dareios had near attempted to charge him a small fortune for the one he had pilfered from the vampire. Frost near assured that might well be the Hunter's goal. After all, a Hunter could not activate them no matter what he did. Perhaps the man simply did not know. Let him chase those ghosts and waste his time. That sudden, soft voice from the woman across from him seeing those violet eyes flick sideways. That note of fear in her voice hardly missed as she made mention of her father. Frost remembering that wolf well, in the least, as well as he could considering the state he had been in. Frost sighing in some effort to...lessen the sting off his words ever so slightly, perhaps. That truth existing all the same even despite the less abrasive tone in which they were offered.
"I care little about your Father. If you have some desire to rescue him or murder him or whatever it is you want then ask Tetradore. Your family fued is not my concern. Even so, I highly doubt your Father can speak Nordic and even if he can the only amulet he can activate is the one you gave to your mate with the wolf insignia. Which is why I am willing to tell you how to use it before your Father finds a way to retrieve it."
He paused once more, allowing the woman to consider those words. Frost refusing to involve himself in some sort of blood-feud between two wolves. He already had his own problems to solve along with that war he so stood to inherit from Tetradore in turn should the man get himself killed. He hardly had time to worry about Raven's father beyond the obstacle the wolf might prevent to the activation of that medallion. EVen then, there as ever chance Raven would present a more reasonable target for her Father and his Hunter friend, perhaps it was better to leave the girl to solve that alone and allow her presence to draw the attention of that pair away from Frost himself. Better her than him.
He had anticipated some level of negotiation on the part of the woman and yet, it seemed, such an art was evidently lost on the girl entirely. Raven failing to offer any counter to his own at all, rather the woman seemed to offer him exactly what they had originally begun with. Her possession off all of those medallions, his assistance for free and nothing more. The woman evidently unaware of just how one bargained at all. God, women. Was it her intent to frustrate him? Perhaps it was. Frost chewing silently on that treat a few moments longer. The equine as calm as always as he regarded her once more.
"I will inform you of what each one does and then, based upon that, you can choose which one you desire to let me have if such an agreement appeals to you more."
It was not truly ideal on his part and yet it satisfied his needs all the same and afforded Raven the knowledge of exactly what each one of those medallions did. Affording her the knowledge to make a more...sucinent choice.
"I will also accept thirty or so thousand dollars in cash by the end of the week instead if you prefer to simply buy my help. The Ark makes that sort of money im sure- and I have things to do with it. Thirty thousand buys you the knowledge in full and activation of on one medallion. For fifty I will tell you about them all."
The devil he was sure, was in the details.
