The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we built this city on broken glass
It was an almost childish game, those near playful illusions and yet the icelandic man wielded them with a near effortless ease. They were hardly his best illusions by any stretch of the imagination and yet they were enough to satisfy the purpose of their creation and allow him to focus his attention on the true object of his desire for this very afternoon. Those sweet treats. He dipped that fork once more into the sweet, crumbling pastry, lifting another bite to his lips as that illusionary family continued to run riot throughout the store. He was aware of that young woman behind the counter, her exasperation growing with each passing moment and yet he afforded her, seemingly, little attention. The stallion far more engaged in simply consuming that pie with a near emotionless calm. Frost hardly hurried in any sense. His consumption almost lackadaisical, as if he hardly cared if she should happen to catch on to his game of torment. Perhaps he didn't.
The woman is swifter than most in discovering that ruse and yet Were-Creatures tended to be harder to fool to begin with. Their animalistic senses content to pick and tease at those flaws and yet too, the man found himself almost curious off her intelligence, of how clever she might really be beneath that facade of calm she wore as she strolled through his illusion. Frost allowing it to dissipate in her wake. He anticipated her approach. That strange violet gaze lifting from that impromptu meal and to the woman herself. She was a pretty thing, young too, why on earth she might choose to waste her time in a bakery a mystery all on its own and yet for now he hardly queried. The stallion instead merely watching her every action even if he hardly appeared to be paying very much attention at all.
Her gaze finds his own in that moment, as if she held some desire to stare him down. Frost content to meet it evenly. He could already feel the beginnings of her thoughts, his affinity reaching for her mind and yet he saw little need to invade it, not yet, the stallion content to allow his curiosity to continue before she offered him those dry, even words. Her voice was quiet, cool, controlled and without any true hint of irritation. Frost allowing his lip to quirk ever so slightly and yet just what amused the man remained to be seen. His shoulders lifting in a shrug of sorts in response to her query, the equine hardly impolite and yet the woman was so afforded those same blunt, frosted lyrics he tended to offer the rest of the world in turn.
"Then you have not checked recently enough."
Those accented lyrics easily parted his lips, those words as emotionless as always as he merely continued to meet her gaze in that ever-subtle display of dominance and yet such was a game he hardly desired to play here and now. The woman's hands reaching out suddenly to snatch that pie and fork from him and yet he made little effort to retrieve them even despite his disdain at their loss. Frost instead merely moving to lean back against that counter now, his arms folded across his chest, that snowy white hair falling over his eyes once more to conceal them from view as he continued to regard her. She turned easily on her heel, striding those few paces back to the counter then before letting her fingers brush across that register to announce he owed her twenty seven eighty five. Frost allowing one eye to lift slightly upward. It had been a truly long time since he had met a woman so bold at this outside of those within his own pack. The man almost...intrigued. The girl had spine. So few ever willing to stand up to him whether they knew him or not. The equine silently seeming to consider her for several moments longer as she offered him that ultimatum of sorts. Frost softly sighing at last, that tension seeming to leave his frame as he turned to face her more fully, his form near lounging against that counter still as he faced her.
"The tart I will pay for, the pie though I have not even eaten half off. I think I have eaten about...four dollars worth at best. I'll give you four dollars- unless you want to return to pie and let me finish the rest of it?"
Why pay for something he hadn't eaten? Really the woman would have been better off springing her veritable trap once he had actually eaten the entirety of the pie. Frost regarding her levelly now in some expectation off her argument. The stallion easily entrapping the woman within her own words, in a sense. After all, he was offering to pay just as she desired and yet- he was offering to pay upon his own terms. The man speaking once more then in those same cold, abrupt lyrics offered in that same cool, calm voice.
"You saw through my illusions faster than most. I am almost impressed. What gave it away?"
