East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He wanted her to make herself at home though he didn't expect her to be very trusting of good things. What shed been through had to be traumatic so of course it would only make sense for her to expect bad things to happen. He didn't expect to gain her trust overnight. He'd just have to work at it. Good thing he had time. He didn't mind telling her about himself. He had nothing to hide and no regrets save leaving Julia on her own when he left the Louisiana territory. She was so natural as a vampire that he didn't think nothing of leaving her to run things. She was unstoppable, but apparently he put his faith in the wrong people to keep her safe. That wouldn't happen again.

Hollywood had messed up a lot of things for vampires. He'd seen his share of moves out of curiosity and so far the only one that seemed even close was Interview of a Vampire. He thought they could have gotten better actors but there's no good choices really when you ask a human to play something immortal. It's always going to get screwed up. Why would Lestat want to be a rock star when he could do anything? It baffled Erik, the things they make up about things they know nothing about. Sparkly vampires? Laughable.

He had gotten good over the centuries at hiding what he's thinking and feeling. Being around other vampires made him cautious. He trusted them less than any other creature cause he knew firsthand what they were capable of. She must have been sneaky to get away from her captors but they must have taken her for a reason so they'll probably want her back. They wouldn't get her, not if he had something to say about it. He liked the way she often had to look away from him with flushed cheeks. It was a good look for her, attractive. That night at the bar he remembered noticing her looks but what drew him to her was her spunk more than anything. That was still intact obviously and even malnourished, she had all the right curves to draw a man's gaze. It was even more noticeable in a bathrobe, but then he'd been noticing anyway. He could feel her steady gaze as he tried to concentrate on the book. Truthfully he hadn't been reading to begin with. He just didn't want to make her uncomfortable by watching her so he made a habit of looking like he was doing something so he could watch from the corner of his eyes.

His lips twitched in amusement that she was watching him too. Finally she seemed to notice that Adele had spoken to her, telling her she could throw the clothes away. Adele nodded with a satisfied smile. At Sorcha's question, she giggled, always a ham for flattery. Erik smirked while still looking like he was reading. "Oh no, dear. I was always too poor for that. I learned from my mother who was an amazing cook herself. I only really cook for myself and the other helpers around here so i get plenty of practice to try new tings. They're all my guinea pigs." Her eyes lit up with mischief as she smirked. As Sorcha turned back to him, Erik glanced up, giving her the full attention of his gaze. She seemed thoughtful before grinning at his added remark, saying she didn't doubt it. He chuckled. Then she brought up mates and he tilted his head in thought before shaking his head.

"I suppose that's what they're called. I dont see the point of settling with one person for a lifetime when there's no guarantee on their expiration date. Ive had my share of partners with no limits on intimacy and i dont feel I've ever missed out." Adele made a hmph noise as she made plates for the rest of the staff and covered them, setting them in the stove to keep warm before she fixed her own plate. "You just haven't met the right woman yet." She said with complete confidence, giving Sorcha a wink as she came to sit down on her other side. Erik smiled at her. "Maybe so." It was a given he knew better than to argue with her. He turned back to Sorcha, noting that shed slowed down on eating. At least she'd eaten a good bit. Should put more of that delectable color in her cheeks.

His lip curled in a small grin at her next comment about him reading. "I also do my own taxes. I guess that's considered treason."
