East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Even with that duffle bag over her shoulder, the young woman quickly hit her stride, her body moving with a sort of grace even in spite of everything. Were she not certain she was being hunted for her life, it would have been...liberating, like flying. A grin crossed her features as she rounded the first alleyway, at least, until that black dagger whizzed by her, quickly silencing any thoughts of playful fun. No, they were not playing a game of chase, he was trying to kill her. Though why she hadn't the faintest idea. The metropolis was filled with the supernatural. It was a well-known fact, so why then was she the only one being hunted? She swiftly darted onto another sharp turn, only to spy her saving grace amongst the grime and darkness and brick - an open door. How convenient! The girl quite near slid into that restaurant, closing that door with a firm slam behind her, locking into place. A soft breath of relief left her lips as she leaned against that door. She did it. She was going to be okay. A small, smug simper crossed her features as her gaze shifted around that kitchen with inquisitiveness. If she didn't know she shouldn't be here, she'd be tempted to see what they were cooking. It certainly smelled good. As it was, the last thing Audette wanted was to be yelled at for violating....well....something, she was sure.

She moved quickly through that kitchen, carefully sneaking out of those double doors that led into the restaurant itself. She paused in front of those doors, her chocolate eyes glanced outside, entirely cautious to ensure she didn' see him before she finally emerged from that dingy little restaurant. A warm simper crossed her fair features all over again as she repositioned that duffle bag, the girl quickly crossing the street. After all, he'd probably backtrack eventually and figure out her efforts to evade him. It was best, she decided, to put as much distance between the two of them as she could. Hopefully, by the time he realized what she had done, she'd be too far away and too hard to track. And maybe, next time, Audette would remember to not take this route. It was not very friendly to her kind, it would seem. Maybe she should find out where the fae lived and move over there. Did they have little communities or something like that here? A quizzical look crossed her features as she contemplated the possibility of an all fae community, the girl entirely obvious to the two figures that stalked her from the shadows, one intent to murder her and the other intent to eat her.

It wasn't until she was mere feet from entering that alleyway that she notice the pale figure hugging the corner of the building. She knew what he was, innately, and yet he wasn't the first vampire she had ever seen either. She had no immediate reason to fear him, a warm smile blossoming across her features as she moved past him. Audette was entirely aware of the man's eyes upon her as she moved away from him. She didn't expect the sudden sensation of his hand upon her shoulder. His grip altogether tight, prompting a yelp from the young woman. "Hey, I--" She started, as his hand roughly grabbed her hip. Audette cringed as his tongue moved across her flesh and yet, any attempt she might have made to move away was stopped by the sheer tightness of his grip upon her dancer physic. She could feel him pulling her tighter against him, even as the girl began to squirm and fight with desperation. His grip, however, remained strong upon her, the vampire doing his best to keep her still while that hunger so clearly clawed at him. It wasn't until that voice echoed in the darkness that either of the pair gained the upper hand. The vampire turned towards the origin of that sound, only for his grip to loosen from a moment of indecision at the sudden discovery of a Dark Hunter.

Audette's gaze widened at the sight of the very man she had tried to lose, that Cheshire smile upon his features only furthered that growing look of concern before her gaze shifted from vampire to hunter and back again. At the very least, that starving supernatural seemed wholly distracted by the newest member of the congregation, it was a distraction she fully used to her advantage. With all of her strength, she pulled away from the vampire, stumbling backward as the sheer abruptness of that movement caused the creature to release his hold on her. She turned, fully intending to make a dash for it only for something to entangle itself within her legs, sending the petite woman crashing to the ground. Her quick reflexes were the only thing that stopped the woman from face-planting into the cement. Her dark brown eyes turned towards her feet, the young woman struggled to kick those chains off of her and yet, that fight only seemed to cause them to tighten their hold on her. It was her own rashness that saw her scoot as far from the pair of men as those chains would allow her, the young female curled against the cold stone of the alleyway, the dumpster against the wall at her back as her fingers reached for those chains. She knew this would not end well for her if she didn't do something. Maybe, before he finished with the vampire, she could pry those chains off of her and be on her way. If only she had realized that metal was of his own making.

She almost didn't notice it at first, the soft hue of light that gently began to radiate from her skin. Her anxiety had a tendency to bring out that affinity, her mastery of it distinctly...lacking, even despite her efforts. It surrounded the young woman in a soft halo of color, that gentle glow giving her an otherworldly look. With such fair skin and sweet blonde girls, it almost gave the fae an appearance of angelicness. By the time she had noticed that luminosity, it was already too late. Her heart was already beating faster with that rush of adrenaline, the sweet scent of her blood only all the more potent as she curled herself tighter against the cold walk and dingy dumpster. Naively, Audette could not help the hope that, maybe, they'd be too distracted with their own fight to notice the luminous French fae.
