East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sometimes I find myself caught in a storm;

Oliver Burton

Those fingers clinging to the back of his shirt and her plea had been his undoing. He felt responsible for the girl in a way and he would not tolerate this man who clearly was causing the fragile woman distress. It stuck a chord within the man in ways he could not understand and yet it made complete sense to that pale monstrosity beneath his fragile human flesh.

Olivet could tell it was going to wind up in a fight and knowing how very few threads were holding him into this world, it was easily fraying. Slipping.. he could feel that instability leave his face as an inhuman snarl escape him.

The change was like waking up from a dream, everything felt lucid and calm despite that beating rage that pelts at him. He could taste the emotions amongst the city air, feel the distress of the woman that only wished to be rid of the warlock that stood before him. Clothes that hardly seemed to matter were reduced to nothing into an explosion of shreds and torn fabric. His form was impressive and large, dominating the very world around him. He was hardly aware of the chaos that his form caused about him. The loud shrieks of terror while people ran every which way away from where he stood. Car's honked a veered away from the scene as if the bear's attention would soon fall upon them. The air felt wild, frantic, and volatile. The sane, human part of him could do nothing to stop it.

Sides heaving the polar bear rang supreme, it felt good being in this form as though he finally felt that he was in the right skin. There was no way he was going to allow anyone to threaten that. It was in the fragile moments where common sense seemed to fade away like smoke on a gentle breeze and he welcomed it.

This man before him, this warlock seemed to be the only one willing to challenge him, test the very domineering nature of the beast before him. He knew vaguely that he was being challenged, for the woman behind him. There was no way he would back down, no way he would turn away from that challenge. Every ounce of him flooded with that dominant ferocity. He rose to his powerful hind legs, his body towering the man before him that he was consumed wholly in his devouring shadow. A defiant rumble floods the air, but it was more akin to roar that made the ground quake around the very ground he stood upon. His affinity vibrating through him in that very moment. His sound could blast him from where he stood. Perhaps the beast didn't deem him a worthy opponent, he wasn't quite sure. He could feel the woman's presence behind her, felt her where he could protect her.

The pristine white bear's intentions were quite clear to his assaulter. Run or die.

He heard the movement behind him, his ear swiveled to listen to Chizue snatch that wounded briefcase and collecting those papers. His nose twitching with that deep breath he took, gathering her scent. He was not going to turn away from this opposing force, no matter how weak he appeared. His jaw could wrap around his head and pop it off with one mighty crushing force of his bite and swipe of his oversized paws. His body shook with power, it seemed to vibrate with it, itching to burst from his being. That was when the warlock decided to summon his own power, fire. It seemed to build like a mesmerizing controlled ball of destruction at the warlock's fingertips. It consumed his shadow that once concealed him, that very action was also a silent challenge. It made his blood boil and yet between rage and a sense irrational wickedness, he was about to draw the first blow.. But that was when he felt a small hand rest upon his thickly muscled back leg, his small nubby tail flicking from left to right.

Her voice made him hesitate the onslaught he had intended for him. She urged him to abandon this fight and flee? Was she crazy? The warlock would be a continuous threat and he challenged him. He was a man that could not turn down a challenge, not after she also begged for his protection mere moments prior. There was no way he was going to turn from this fight. He turned his massive head to allow an intelligent nutmeg hued eye to turn enough to view her. How small she seemed. He shook his head slightly before he felt that fire ball hit him at his chest, he nearly fell backward at the blast. His right leg took a step backward to save him from toppling over and undoubtedly squish the dainty woman like a bug if she didn't move away quick enough.

A black spot marred his once pristine coat, singing his coat, the smell of burning fur and flesh snapped his attention back. A thunderous roar escapes him viciously, pain drove him into a frenzy. He ruined his coat and challenged to harm the woman under his protection, also what he did, HURT like hell. He would pay. From that very roar that ripped its way out of him, a force of his power was sent barreling toward the warlock, a blasting wall of sound to blast him off his feet, shooting him through the air. He could have burst his head with that sound but the bear wanted dominance. He wanted to truly dominate him before he gave him the mercy of daring to challenge him. With a mighty lunge, he reached out for him with those giant claws, armed with those raking brutal nails, he would rip him apart. He cared not for any looming hunters, even though he should have. He only cared about being the victor of this battle and keeping the woman who didn't stand a chance against that filthy warlock. He waits for the warlock to get to his feet just to descend upon him once more.

The massive white bear took a moment while his opponent was down on the ground to glance once more back toward the woman to ensure she was safe, as foolish as it was.
