The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Two feet. 24 inches. 0.61 meters. That doesn't seem like a whole lot. Why in the world does he have to have such a precise measurement like that? I mean not everyone has such an exact measurement, not unless you're building something. If he needed such a defined measurement then clearly it was important. I have absolutely no clue on just what sort of plan he's cooking up in that head of his. I really shouldn't question him. The man was on a mission to conquer the world and he had much more superb war and battle strategies than anyone else alive. My god it would be amazing if he was in a room with Napoleon, Lord Nelson, Sun Tzu, and if we could throw Patton in there for humor, that would be great. Just to listen to them go through the various wars that went on with each century and breaking them down, discussing the strategy, the most clever to the most unlucky. You know, sort of like how the former NFL stars break down the game every Sunday. Whatever the reason I know I have to get this right for him, because I'd like to make up for accidentally having the rhino do more unnecessary damage to his café.
Feeling him start to settle himself on my back I take a deep breath and manage to stay still for him, and not flinch, or spook as he calls it. It's not that easy staying still you know. I couldn't do it when I was a kid so I'm surprised I can do it standing in the freezing rain. Did I mention how cold it is right now? I know I have fur and everything, but it's not really helping me right now. I could go with a nice hot shower after this. Maybe curl up on the couch at home with the fireplace on, and a good steaming mug of hot chocolate. Yep, I know exactly what I'm going to do after this. One ear flicks backwards when I hear that whispered praise, and I can't help but nicker quite softly. Awww look at me I did something right. See, I always knew I could! Well, I hope that makes up for accidentally encouraging the rhino to demolish more of the cafe. I wonder if insurance would consider this as an act of God. I mean it's a bit obscure. It's going to be an interesting phone call to make. Seeing the rhino start to scratch the ground I take a few steps in place trying to settle myself. Both ears are pointed forward as I try to imagine the two feet in my head. I mean that's not enough distance between me and the rhino. I mean he's got armor and I don't.
Feeling the pressure of his heels dig in I propel myself forward jerking my head up slightly. As I run I can not only feel the pounding of my hooves against the pavement, but I swear I can feel the ground shake from the rhino in front of me. I really don't like how he is lowering his head with that deadly horn coming our way. Keeping the tempo steady I eye the length between me and rhino, yea that looks about two feet. As we get closer I can feel him start to slide as we run past the rhino. Oh my god he's falling off! As we rush past the rhino I can hear the creature scream in pain. Concerned about the Dark Hunter I start to turn, my head craned slightly to see him start to pull himself upright, back where he belonged on my back. Snorting I try to slow myself down in the wet road, hoping almost in place until I finally stop. I turn my head in the direction from where the rhino was, watching as he stumbled and slammed into a parked car. As he leans and falls on his right side, I can see that underneath his left side blood was gushing out. With a rough snort I slam one hoof to the ground, scraping my hooves easily against the pavement. The rhino twitched, but remained on the ground. Well, that's a good sign for us I think.
I extended my neck and brush my nose gently against his foot for a moment. I can actually hear the rhino cry out. I know all Alexander can hear is the rhino's wails, but I can actually here his words. It's sad in a way. He's crying out for his fallen mate and how he's going to try to avenge her, all by himself. Oh, so I guess he doesn't have a pack to avenge his death, well that's kind of nice, right? Shaking my head to rid myself of his voice I march right on over towards him. As we get closer I can actually see the beginning stage of his healing. It's not very quick though and I doubt it would be, not with that life-threatening wound Alexander gave him. Both ears are laced backwards tightly as I inflict some more pain in him, along that left side, giving him the impression that his were-healing isn't working. Standing beside the fallen rhino I make his vision still poor, and keeping him deaf though. I need him to think he is dying. Well, I mean he is dying, but you know what I mean. Need to keep him incapable of lashing out at us. I turn my head around to the Dark Hunter, as if to say 'okay, you can end this now.'
