The man was beyond aloof. Aloof wouldn't even be the correct word to describe him. The man just went through life as if it were nothing. Not that he didn't care about life or the people in it. He did. If he didn't care he wouldn't be their Alpha in the first place. Taking Tobias away from him was almost like taking away his other half. When her wedding day was fast approaching she promised Tetradore she wouldn't stand in the way of his extremely close relationship with Tobias. If they wanted to do anything together he didn't have to ask her permission, they could just go. She expected a touching reaction from him, maybe even a little bit of appreciation. What Raven received was completely opposite. He seemed indifferent and casually said that she was the most important relationship in Tobias' life now. Raven doubted she could ever replace her spotted companions best friend, the two of them as thick as thieves.
It didn't go unnoticed when he would disappear for awhile. It wasn't every night he was gone, but there were times when he didn't watch over or participate in the fights. Before she noticed a change in him he wasn't at the Ark all the time when it was open, but he didn't seem so ragged before. There were times when he was exhausted from being out late doing God knows what. Other times he was sore from whatever physical activity he endured, telling the concerned woman it was nothing to fret over. Well, his words didn't soothe her at all. While they were away she hoped that Tetradore would be okay and upon their return he would seem better. After being back for a few weeks Raven didn't notice a positive change. It had been long enough and the lupine was determined to get to the bottom of this.
As always in the beginning of the year it was tax season. This was perhaps one of the times when the two of them were at constant close proximity to one another. After years of doing the tax work together they have developed a pretty good sufficient system. They knew what their roles were and they performed them perfectly, well they would if they weren't interrupted by the man they both cared for. That wily scoundrel determined to pull the two of them away from paper. With the new tax laws being absolutely backwards from the previous years the two of them were finalizing a few things today. The deadline for early submissions was today and with Tobias out and about, doing God knows what, that left her alone with Tetradore for awhile. Raven wanted to spend more time with him doing things, fun things to be more specific, because taxes are not fun things. Besides maybe if she spent more time with him he might open up. Probably that was an unlikely thing, but she could try.
Grabbing the final few papers she made her way over to his bedroom. The man had promised her earlier in the morning he would have his final reviews done. Although she could deliver these packets to the post office by herself she hoped he would accompany her on the trip. Opening his bedroom door she walked in seeing the man reviewing a few papers. With a grin she spoke softly towards him, her tone containing a wary, but chipper note.
It seemed a bit silly that she was a grown woman asking to 'hang out' with someone, but she would like to spend some time with him. After all he mentioned to her a long time ago he would be her brother, and well, she never had an older brother before.
