The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She could practically smell the heartbreak on Henry and it was killing her. She felt so helpless. What could she do to help? She just needed some way to help. She was sure Nadya or someone more practiced in the ways of the heart would know how to mend the situation, but she wasn't sure Henry wanted others' help. In a way, she felt special that he'd chose to come to her, though she hated the reason why. When she assured him that Sterling would forgive him, she could already see the defeat in Henry's eyes as he sighed. No, he didn't believe that, and it only made Malia's heart ache more for him. He looked up then, telling her that Sterling was gone for good. Malia smiled sadly and shook her head. "I can't believe that. Two people as in love as you are don't just give up like that. There's got to be a way." If there was anything to be said about the WereCoyote, she could be damn determined when she wanted to be. But her friend needed her more than ever right now. He buried his face in his hands, saying that Sterling had stabbed his heart with a knife. She chewed on her bottom lip for a second, stopping herself from yelling "No! Let me see!" cause of course, he couldn't mean literally. No, that had to be a phrase one said in this case cause she didn't smell blood or anything and there was nothing wrong with her nose. Henry said he didn't know how to make the pain go away and Malia parted her lips, before remembering she didn't know how either. "I....don't know either, Henry." Her own shoulders slumped in defeat at the admission before she let out a big sigh and brought her hand up to let her fingers twirl a tendril of hair around them in thought. "I'm sorry, I'm a bad friend. I don't know how to fix this, but I want to." She said the words mostly to herself as she stared at the floor. |
