East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The girl was alone and didn't smell of a pack so of course Malia was already wondering in the back of her mind if she would want to join her pack, but she did at least know better than to ask that in the first few sentences. They needed to warm up to each other. The girl needed to relax, too. Malia kept noticing the way she tensed and stiffened, like she'd been caught doing something wrong. Malia didn't know the car didn't belong to her though and she had no reason to believe that people make a living off of stealing out of other people's cars. She had no idea what the girl was so nervous about. When she told her what she was, the girl grinned as if that was the greatest thing ever. "Yep. What about you?" She hadn't missed the fact that the girl had yet to say what kind of Were she was. She sure was tall, that's for sure. Malia wasn't too used to girls being as tall or taller than she was. Not that she was a giant or anything, just leggy, as she'd once been told.

The girl went on to say it surprised her, Malia being a coyote, though she didn't know why. Malia tilted her head. The girl started to ask something then said nevermind and now Malia was really curious. But as the girl went on, stumbling over her words, Malia caught on and her eyes widened in a eureka moment before she grinned. "Yeah, I like staying in the woods mostly. Still getting used to people in general after being stuck in my coyote form for about 8 years of my life." She shrugged like it was no big deal. It had definitely taken some time, getting over that stage of her life. There was still so much she didn't understand even after all this time. As the girl suddenly asked about food though, Malia was successfully distracted, her eyes immediately lighting up. She could always be talked into food. She nodded. "Yeah, there are some great places in town. A few cafe's and diners and stuff."

When they started walking, she remembered something. "I'm Malia, by the way." She offered. The girl put her arm around her shoulders and Malia tensed at first, unused to the sudden touching, but when she sensed the girl didn't mean any harm by it, she relaxed again, smiling as they began to walk. Was this what human friends did? Nadya and Miyako never did that to her, but maybe they hadn't gotten close enough. Did that mean this girl was going to be her best friend? Yes! As they walked, Malia pointed out some of the places she'd eaten at before, waiting for the girl to pick one that sounded good. She even listed out the food she'd tried at each, everything from hamburgers to steaks and GOD YES cheese fries. How she adored those things.
