East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She could not recall the last time she was able to have a moment to herself. Ever since she came to this city she was surrounded by others be they friend or foe. It had taken awhile for the curly-haired woman to realize that not everyone around her was going to harm her. What surprised her was she hadn't been told by others to leave. It was odd at first. No one had told her to get lost or chase her away. Surrounding herself with others that appreciated her company brought out a side of her that she hadn't been able to extend to others before. Kindness. One would assume that such a thing was extinguished due to the harsh treatment she had endured. Yet somehow she was able to obtain a part of herself that hadn't been broken just yet. Now she was on the cusp of joining a pack full of a species entirely her own and not so much. Never had she assumed she would be able to do such a thing. After all her pack hadn't wanted her so who else would see her as an asset? Apparently cats, but hey, she wasn't going to explain. She was wanted by at least two members and that was something she would not take for granted.

Stepping inside the bookstore she paused for a moment to inhale the familiar scent of freshly printed books. The pages and their bindings brought a sense of comfort to the young woman as she began to head towards a section she found most agreeable with. Finding a plastic blue basket she grabbed it and continued on her merry way. As she walked down the aisles she would stop every now and then reading the spines of the books, pulling some out and flipping through to see if she liked it or not. The ones that passed her astute judgment she would slip them into her basket and continue browsing through the store. The books that she had gathered weren't entirely for her. Instead most of them were actually gifts. There were a few she had gathered for Tetradore. Now that he was running a business, he needed all the help he could get when it came to things like, 'Managing Your Money with Time Management,' and 'How to be a Great Manager,' and 'So, you are the New Boss? How to Keep Your New Employers In Line.' She even found a few cookbooks with recipes that she wanted to try and make for the boys at the Ark, quite willing to take on the task of making sure they all didn't starve to death or eat the same old thing over and over again. Just because they were part animal didn't mean they had to eat the same ole food. Within her stack of books she found at least two she thought Serafina would take a liking to, it was about plants and exotic plants to be used for whatever sort of thing the witch needed- apparently this bookstore had a hidden section for supernaturals alone. She had chosen only one book for herself so that she could retain a bit of peace. Lifting her head she was started to see Nadya standing in front of her. Holding the basket in front of her, blue-grey eyes narrowed when she noticed Nadya placing a stack of books towards another shelf. Giving the panther a pleasant smile in return she spoke softly, mindful that this was a place of peace and quiet for other patrons.

"Bookstores have always been a place of sanctuary to me. The guys are busy doing God knows what and I wasn't needed by anyone today. I found a few books for everyone and one for me."

Taking a step forward her head would tilt to the side a truly puzzled to see the woman in a place like this out of all places. Aware that the two had some sort of rift between the other the she-wolf was willing to try and find some common ground at least. They would be pack mates and the last thing she wanted was to be in a fallout with one. Particularly after she found out about the panther's activities with Tobias. It was not her place to speak her mind about such things, especially when it had harmed Tetradore, but she would not mention it here- or anywhere else. It just wasn't her place. Softly she spoke pointing towards the stack of hidden books Nadya had tried to hide. The curly-haired woman never was able to discuss books before and if Nadya was some hidden bookworm, well, she didn't have to hide it any longer.

"Don't take this the wrong way...but I thought you would spend money mostly on clothes than books. I've never been able to discuss books with anyone before, I don't think there is anything to be embarrassed about in what you like to read.... What did you place over there?"
