The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

leila
The genial simper upon Leila's features fell immediately at the sight of a rather empty IV pole. That blood she was hoping to steal apparently was not here. Then again, she supposed maybe they wouldn't leave patients who required a blood transfusion unattended to. The scowl upon his features hardly registered within her own self-absorbed thoughts, at least until he gestured towards his leg and the crimson substance that surrounded the gaping wound upon his shin. Leila scoffed at its very appearance, her hand reaching up to wave away his sarcasm, "That's not actively bleeding." She insisted, even as she stepped closer towards the man's bare leg to regard his wound with some clear skepticism. It was hardly an interesting wound, his skin angry and red all up and down his leg, ignoring the clear gash. He would live through it just fine with nothing more than a scar to show for his trip to the hospital. Her insistence that his wound wasn't exciting however, seemed to provoke the same level of sarcasm from the man before, one that saw her brow rise ever so slightly. "What were you doing skidding down the highway?" She inquired incredulously, only to shake her head ever so slightly. No, no, the story hardly mattered. Leila had a task to fulfill, dawdling only increased her chance of getting caught.
A single hand rose, a finger tapping against her lip thoughtfully as she considered the options before her. She could simply...try another bed? There were plenty in the emergency room - though, perhaps the more effective method was to ensure the blood she sought came to her instead. It was rather easy to create a wound that might actually require some effort to heal, a blade already poised between her fingertips as she offered the suggestion to her likely unwilling accomplice. His insistence that she likely wasn't a nurse, however, caused her gaze to turn downward towards the awfully bright blue scrubs. "Nonsense, I have the outfit for it." She refuted, as if that somehow was all that was necessary to bypass the hippocratic oath. How quickly he seemed to catch onto her intentions, however, as he merely offered his wrist like another vampire had apparently already indulged within. Her head shook however, as she regarded him with an all too cheerful smile. "I am not, but my daughter is and I do have to make sure she's well fed...mothers, am I right?" She inquired, turning his earlier comment back upon him. She sat down at the edge of the bed, her wicked simper hardly wavering. "So that means, you are going to help me acquire some extra blood for her - one way or another. We'll go with my idea, unless you have a better one?" A good plan did always leave room for a little improvisation.
