The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked Oh, how it had been such a long time since I had seen that crest emblazoned on a piece of paper, let alone anything. My residence had only been recently established in the city with little regard to whom I might receive visitation from, and without a thought even granted to the notion I might receive some kind of "snail mail". Had I been notified of an impending visit or company, I might have organized my residence in a timely fashion... especially if I had seen the crest on the letter beforehand. As it happened, though, I was not granted that kindness and instead of preparation I was faced with visitation from a King I had not seen in quite a while that would certainly stir up memories and personas from what felt like lifetimes ago. In all reality, though, my existence as a ward of the Guaire monarchy and realm had been lifetimes ago. From the eyes of a small slave child through those of the grown young warrior I had become, the Guaire name took place of my birth-name and I was allowed to flourish under the eyes of the monarchy. Without them... I had no concern for what my life would have been like had I not become a favorite of the queen. The notion of this reprehensible form of existence was abolished from my mind quickly, reminding me that my current king would soon be in my presence. Parting is such bittersweet sorrow. Instead of biding my time and waiting for the visit of my king like I should have, my temptation was caught on the wind as the city called my name. He would find me, of that I was sure, no matter my location or time. It was a benefit of our once congenially intimate relationship in that Vadris would be able to track me down with little effort. Almost as if his ears heard my heart beating at a frequency these other individuals couldn't yet become attuned to; his efforts had been honed over decades and almost centuries of our existence as battle companions, friends, and whatever else one might add to the definition of our relationship. There would be no question in his mind if he sought my home first and found it empty that I was about in the city and just where I might be found. I had chosen to make it simple on him, though. Armed with a frighteningly scorching hot cup of English tea, I arranged myself in the corner of a small café that reported to be open late into the night. With my attention finely tuned and directed into the depths of my mug, I relegated myself to whatever kind of wait I might have to engage in before being graced with his presence. And when that time came? I may have been the only individual he could boast being predictable... But now? My eyes were the color of stone and my hair was braided back in an acute attempt to allow my king to see the warrior beneath my delicate skin in preparation of him for whatever kind of arguable repose that might be found within the depths of my soul that he once would have professed to know every solemn inch of.
