The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked. Building life is difficult. Building your network, creating relationships, and moving forward is difficult, if you're starting from square one. You need to find a new place to live, a new place to work, and whomever you might want to include in your daily life. These are all entirely difficult tasks on their own â€" but in a threesome? There were far better things I could think of that I'd want to have a threesome with. Regardless of the difficulty of the tasks ahead, you press on to try and find a new rhythm to live your life. Fortunately for me, when this became an ordeal scheduled on my calendar, I'd been at ease in the new place I'd found myself. A new city posed new people, new challenges, and new problems; I liked new, I've always been talented at acclimating to new circumstances. This? Yes, this had been no different. I'd found a place to live rather quickly, adorning my space with trinkets that reminded me of home. I'd wandered into having a job at the Cat's Meow off hand, utilizing skills I had long since thought I'd lost. And the people. Vadris. He was here but only for the briefest of moments did I see him. And then he was gone again â€" on some adventure that required adhering to whims I couldn't possibly imagine. With his absence, I'd focused on being the lead dancer at the Burlesque, pouring all of my time and efforts into that mundane occupation. And when the rut began to remind me it might be time to move on once more did I find myself wandering out of a bar post-shift, drink in hand regardless of whether the establishment I'd left allowed me to leave with my refreshment. The cigarettes in my pocket felt like they were burning a hole where they rested, the box full until I pulled one out and slid it between my lips with ease that the centuries had given me. The familiar acrid taste of smoke filled my lungs, contradictorily feeling refreshing when I exhaled the chemicals. The cigarettes did no harm to me â€" no â€" but I loved the bit of a buzz I could get from simply breathing deeply. Unfortunately, the cigarette ended too quickly, so I was all too happy to pull another out of the pack and replace the diminished one. Cigarettes, like gum, tend to be complimentary favors to those around you; though solitary, I am no different. The man closest to me, leaning against the wall as he purused his absurd amount of pockets caused me to raise my eyebrows in amusement. It took only a moment for me to brandish a new cigarette at him like one might brandish a treat at a dog but with a perfectly manicured hand did I hold it.
