East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

Nadya had reached up to pluck the strings of her top strap around her neck to let the straps fall so no undesirable tan lines would show, playing with the card between her fingers, until a startled scream roused her from her thoughts. Her brows knitted together in confusion, twisting her head to look back to the exit where the sound came from, only to have a blur of motion behind her and the card snatched from her hand. Nadya gasped softly in surprise at the sudden intrusion, her attention snapping to the pool as the card landed in it. She could have very well just gone in and gotten it but her eyes moved to Tobias as he slid from behind her, standing with his arms crossed at the foot of her plastic pool lounge chair. It took a brief moment to recognize him, an out of context appearance with mixture of feelings flashing in her eyes as Tobias took in her current attire. His own attire caused Nadya to frown as it was a whole different category of what was considered sexy...and it hadn't been her who had dressed him, which had been a triumph on her part. At first she felt relieved to see him, knowing he was alive, and then what came from his mouth caused that anger to well up again.

The droplets of water which hadn't yet evaporated from her body slid down her skin as Nadya stood up on the plastic chair, bringing her height even with Tobias, her fingers tying the knot of her bikini top back behind her neck. "I waited for days, you and Aiden never showed! You can't just get your ass captured and disappear for days and expect me to still be there!" Her tone was tense, shaking slightly in anger but at least not shrill yet. She took a few steps forward on the chair, stopping only when there was a foot or two of space between then, her gaze hardened and glaring back at him. That proximity to him again caused that familiar feeling of relief from the pack bond to flare up, pulling her to remain close to him though she fought it tooth and nail. It was a feeling much stronger than she felt living with her old pack which she thought was due to knowing him since early childhood. However, the fact that he felt he could still keep other males away from her bothered her the most. "You don't have any authority over me, Tobias. Look at what you're wearing, you aren't a Were anymore, you are a slave...a pet. You are beneath me." The frustrated anger in her hissing tone was clear, remembering the hours spent waiting for them, the emptiness of the bond in her shifted mind. As soon as the words were from her mouth she couldn't help it, it was like her mind and body acted on two different plans as her hand came up and slapped Tobias across the face. It was not hard enough to cause harm, but enough to startle the senses and cause a blush to the skin. She had to steel her heart from him, from both him and her brother, to place them in the category of no longer relevant simply to prepare for the day that they may never show up. "You aren't...my pack...anymore.."
