The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Without contest Fall was her favorite season she mused sitting outside while perched on the metal grating of her fire escape. A time for boots, scarves, leather jackets, and the spiced coffee from which she now sipped. Absentmindedly she stroked the soft fur of the cat who had adopted her, Grayson she had come to call him, while they watched the sun sink slowly over the city. The days were getting shorter and shorter, but she didn't mind seeing as she slept mostly during the day anyway, bartender jobs weren't known for their dayshifts.
She hadn't made many friends in her relatively short time in Sacrosanct, originally due to her secretive line of work and now compounded by late, long hours at a bar. It didn't leave much room for socializing, but Nadya the party happened to fall on her night off and she really didn't have many excuses not to go. It might be interested to see how the crowds of the city comingled anyway. Sighing she ran her delicate fingers down the tabby's spine once more before downing the rest of her mug's contents and crawling back inside the shabby, one bedroom apartment. She hadn't put much thought into what she would wear, but with her wardrobe surely she could find something.
After much digging and complaining, leaving her room in tatters with clothes thrown haphazardly on every available surface she emerged with a decent costume. Looking in the mirror she took in the billowy white shirt which she had left unbuttoned at the top underneath a deep crimson corset, black leggings and thigh high boots and smiled, not too shabby. She donned a longer, leather coat she had found years ago, strapped on a large leather belt, put on what little gold party jewelry she had and finally tied her hair back with a bright red bandana. A smile on her brightly painted red lips she slipped out the door and was off.
Red's wasn't far from where she worked, and she peeked in the window of the Cat's Meow on her way. It was a quiet night in there, no doubt most would be drawn to the costume party, so she didn't feel so bad about actually taking her night off for once. She had been right about everyone congregating at Red's on a night like this, as light spilled from the windows and open door where people seemed to be pouring in. She had done some business at the Irish pub before, one of her first marks in Sacrosanct had been found here, but she was hoping none of that would surface tonight. Easily she slipped in and around those congregating by the door, and after giving a quick wink and smile to the bouncer she was inside.
She stuck to the walls while she surveyed the landscape, hazel eyes dancing around the scene of elaborately dressed individuals, all of whom were strangers to her. In such a crowd her instincts were on high alert, senses almost overloaded between the myriad of scents and sounds, it was easier not try and focus on it too much. Finally she made her way toward the bar, ordering a drink quickly when she garnered the attention of the bartender, she felt for him on a night like this; busy was good for a bartender but it was exhausting as well. Turning she leaned back against the bar, taking a long pull of her drink while her eyes continued to rove the crowd for the best prospects for the night.
One manicured eyebrow raised in intrigue as she recognized the blue-hooded figure walking about with a staff in hand as Frost. It was that tangled shock of white hair that gave him a way as always, his costume one with far more humor than she would have anticipated from him. He hadn't seen her yet and so she just watched, eyes narrowing as he uses the crook of the rod to pull the legs from under another man. That seemed more like the Frost she expected, and the man seemed to recover quickly enough, albeit with a confused look on his face. Shaking her head she took another swig of her drink before humming
