The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was something unnerving to the young faerie about not being able to experience the Were's emotions. She'd grown used to a faintness that surrounded Aiden, never quite being able to identify the exact emotions, but still getting a small taste. With this man, there was nothing but a blank canvas where his emotions should be. The young empath had grown all too used to her power as a crutch, helping her sense when others wanted to harm her. The lack of emotions made her jumpy and had her casting nervous glances back at the door just in case she needed to make a quick escape. Still, he seemed to hardly notice nor care about her behavior, instead he regarded her with interest. But even though she remained weary of the man standing in front of her, the mention of a friendship with Nadya eased the tension just slightly. After all, Nadya had never lead her to do anything that wasn't good for her or safe. Nadya, to the young blonde, was one of the few people she whole-heartedly trusted. Sam merely shrugged at his response. "Either way, she isn't running the burlesque right now, I am." The words sounded far more confident than the girl felt in this situation. She certainly didn't feel comfortable under his gaze, which seemed more as though she was prey than a person. "I'm not sure when she'll be back, but I could get a message to her if you'd like, I suppose."
Again, the silence between them caused the young faerie's thoughts to drift back to her own power. She tried reaching out, attempting to grasp at anything the man might be feeling. She was sure the confusion must have shown on her features as she came up with nothing. It was an odd sensation. Even her Aiden, who seemed to be the most private person she'd ever met, wasn't immune to her power. And yet, this strange man seemed to be. Or at least, mostly. It wasn't until the young faerie questioned him on his identity that Samantha go the smallest, dullest flash of amusement struck her and found the girl staring at him in absolute confusion at the situation.
It is his words, however, that cause Samantha to pause. She'd only recently learned of Aiden's status as Alpha as his pack, though she still had little ideas as to what that entailed. She'd realized that it meant she was offered some sort of protection â€" she'd noted the way Raven listened to her, though she had yet to work out that it was a privilege of dating Aiden rather than a show of Raven liking her. She knew little about Weres, and Aiden was hardly the type to go into politics regarding his pack with her. She supposed if she asked, she could coax information from him, but she was much more interested in the other topics they could discuss. But still, it was the man's words that confused her. "Aiden doesn't own anyone," Samantha said quietly, though she couldn't say it with complete authority. Again, she knew so little about the world in which Aiden ran. But he didn't own her, that was for sure.
Samantha shifted just slightly on her feet as he commented on her gaining Nadya's trust, her mind focusing instead on the name offered to her. Frost. There was something about it that tugged at her, though she couldn't place it. Perhaps Nadya had said something about the man and she'd filed his name away for later storage? Instead of questioning it, Samantha merely smiled and held her hand out to him. "Nice to meet you, Frost," She said as she shook his hand. "I'm Samantha. And... I'm not sure she so much trusts me as I'm dating her brother, so..." She gave him a tiny grin before she shook her head. "I'm kidding, that's not it at all. She... likes that I'm... Oh, what was the word she used? Resilient?" The young girl trailed off, her cheeks flaming at the sudden influx of information she'd given him. "Let me try that again. It's nice to meet you, Frost. I'm Samantha. Sam."
Samantha let out a laugh at his next comment, shaking her head slightly as she took it in. It was true that she was coming to enjoy the management of the burlesque more than she had ever enjoyed dancing or waitressing, but she'd be the first to admit that it was her loyalty to Nadya that kept her here. Nadya trusted her. Nadya wanted her to run this in her absence. At that, Samantha couldn't help but enjoy it just a little. "Honestly, I..." Samantha started, though she was cut off by the sound of the door opening behind her. Spinning around, she was surprised to see another faerie â€" one who looked about sixteen though Samantha knew her to be considerably older than that â€" at the doorway.
Immediately, Samantha flinched at the presence of another girl, her thoughts drifting towards her fear of the creature that stood before them. Outwardly, she showed no emotion other than that initial shock towards the girl, though her insides panicked to flee against her will. Still, there was no sense in anyone else knowing her fears, especially Frost, this near stranger, and she was determined to keep them safely locked up inside her head. "Yes?" She said to the girl, who looked bored as she looked at her supposed boss. Samantha knew that the other girls didn't approve in the slightest of Nadya's choice, though none of them dared speak it lest it get back to Nadya.
"Since you're our new boss" The girl said, her words dripping with hatred. "We thought we'd ask your permission to do our new routine tonight. You know, wouldn't want to go against your wishes, ma'am." Samantha shifted, desperately wishing she could flee both from the situation at hand and the accusing look the girl gave her. It was no secret that all the girls thought that Samantha only got this job by either sleeping with Nadya or by sleeping with Aiden. Neither of which were true, though the second one was working its way towards having the slightest indication of merit. Still, Samantha merely waved a hand dismissively. "Do whatever Lyrica says. She's in charge of you. If she has trouble, she'll find me." She turned, clearly over the conversation with the faerie at hand, who slinked back inside the building muttering something about Samantha 'getting all the cute Were boys'.
"Sorry about that," Samantha said, turning back to her companion. On the outside, she appeared bored with the interaction, though her thoughts tumbled with anxiety over the one on one interaction with the faerie girl. To an outsider, it must have appeared very odd the way she feared her own species.
