Her night had taken a full 180. From the sobbing young doctor to the hesitantly placing her hand in the mayor's to do... well, she wasn't sure exactly. Sure, she was entirely aware the man had taken off running, faster than her eyes could see. Miya was certain somewhere in her mind that they were going to do something similar but it hadn't quite clicked yet. Blinking up at him in surprise, she places a dainty hand in his before taking a step forward, eyes wide, "That was... well, I'm not really sure what to say yet," she admits with an uneasy laugh, "It's one thing to hear about these advantages you have and another to actually see it," she states after a moment before Dareios is closing the space and sweeping her up into his arms. A small gasp of surprise is released from her lips as her hands instinctively come up to clutch at his shirt clinging at his chest. "Dareios!" She exclaims suddenly as she's shifted into a more comfortable position, her chocolate eyes turning to look at him, their breaths mingling at their closeness.
She peers at him for a moment longer before another blush rises to her cheeks, her eyes glancing away from him momentarily, "Please don't drop me," she blurts out immediately after asking if she was ready. Her heart thunders in her chest just as Dareios spins on a heel and takes off. Her eyes close on their own, she couldn't quite comprehend the speed they were going as the force sends her pressed further into the mayor. The passing of the world around her almost... non existence except for the roar of wind in her ears and her hair snapping wildly around them. Before she knows it, they have stopped, her skin tingling and her body exploding with adrenaline and perhaps a bit of exhilaration. Though, she can't convince her eyes to open until Dareios is speaking again, asking a simple question. Peeling her eyes open, her hands clutching at his shirt, she glances up at him, her cheeks flushed from the wind and her hair falling out of her ponytail. She stares at him for a long moment before she finally glances around at the familiar neighborhood, if not severely rundown.
Giving a slow nod, she manages to pry her fingers from his ruined shirt as she points to the apartment complex across the street, the flickering lights emitting from said complex sending an ominous glow across. The woman was used to it, having carried pepper spray since she had moved here and only needed to use it once. She learned early on it didn't work nearly as well against vampires as it did humans. Finally letting go of the mayor, she crawls out of his arms, her feet planting on the ground, though she sways as she attempts to stand, her hands reaching out to grab his arm to steady herself, "I just... need a second," she states slowly, her eyes closing as a wave of dizziness hits her. It passes after a moment as she blinks her eyes open, tilting her head back she looks at him, "That was interesting," she says a half smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Amazingly, her stomach feels settled though her hands remained clutched at his arm, worried the moment she lets go she will fall.
"My apartment is just right there, you got really close," she says, "I'm surprised you remembered," she smiles again before finally releasing his arm, feeling steady enough to walk on her own. "Would you like to come in?" She asks after a moment, her chocolate eyes glancing down, her embarrassment rising to her cheeks once more.
