for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
A small shrug caused the young woman's shoulders to life and fall in an otherwise indifferent fashion. She couldn't terribly blame him for his uncertainty on the future the cards had laid out for her. After all, she had ventured into the confines of this stuffy, overpriced bar for perhaps the exact same reason - to escape from the life that had been set out for her, the life that she had once upon a time naively chosen for herself. It was funny how things worked out that way. There were always strings attached to everything, apparently there were even ones attached to her tarot cards. How was that for perspective? "Didn't we all?" She muttered softly to herself, a small frown crossing her feminine features. It seemed no matter how much she attempted to run away from her issues, they always caught up with her. Her grey tinged gaze stared blankly at his hands, her thoughts momentarily preoccupied for a long moment before she realized what she was observing. Her eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly. Repetitive actions like this were no stranger to her. Serafina had many an individual appear into her shop wishing to quit whatever nasty habit they'd picked up, their efforts to quit often bringing out their own peculiar reactions.

Her attention shifted momentarily to the bag beside her, searching for something amongst the dozen of vial she often carried with her. Her search was rather short lived, the vial in her hands as he leaned towards her, immediately captured by the handsome male across from her. Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly as she listened to him, his words causing an abrupt simper to break across her previously grim features. A small giggle left her lips, "I'll keep that in mind for next time." She offered the smallest of promises, finding herself suddenly grateful the her card had hit him out of all the men that lined the bar. She could be having a very different conversation right now. "It's a pleasure, Blake. My name is Serafina.....here." Hesitantly the young woman popped the cork off the small vial, tilting it ever so slightly to let a few drops of the oil spill out on the tips of her fingers. Serafina reached out, gingerly letting her oiled fingertips brush against the back of his hand at the same spot that he'd taken up his persistent rubbing. Her flesh brushed against his and briefly the girl found herself incapable of not thinking of the feel of his skin beneath her touch as she rubbed the solution into his skin. Her hand withdrew for a moment only to offer him the rather full small vial. "It should help with..whatever you're trying to quit. Drugs? Eh, not that it matters really. It'll help take the edge off and purify your system....I mean...if you want it."

It was rare that the young girl found herself self conscious, her attitude usually quite indifferent on the thoughts of others. Although, really, it wasn't often that she even sat down to have an in-depth conversation with a perfect stranger in the first place. Either way, there was something about him that caused the usually confident girl to waver. She should have been used to it by now, the doubt, the peculiar looks, the simple inability to just not fit in in any fashion. Tonight she wanted to forget about all those things and really, she wasn't terribly sure she was off to a great start...
