North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

She sits at the bar, doing nothing but shifting around the stir stick in her drink. Ice cubes clink at the sides of her glass as she thinks about the fear that is coursing through her veins. She is being ridiculous. She would be fine! There was nothing here that would harm her â€" just a few humans minding their own business (minus one who she believed might be trying to pick her up and take her home). She took a sip of her drink as the man settled next to her. Eyes looked over to him, as she watched him settle into his own seat. Vampire. Good. At least she was safe without someone sitting next to her that wanted to kill her.

A deep sigh left her lip as the song on the jukebox turned to something more sinister. It was a song about defeat and fear â€" something that was so pressing on her today. She was silent as she thought about her life and how much had happened in the short time she had been living here in Sacrosanct. Through an unfortunate set of circumstances, she had met Troy â€" a fairy who hated vampires. But she had shown him that not all vampires should be hated â€" that they could be respected. At first, Troy had been unsure about Amelia's unconventional love for all supernatural species, but he was coming around to see her side. Though he still kept his own opinions, he did seem to enjoy spending time with her. It was nice to just be able to be herself in the presence of another.

The gentleman beside spoke and it broke the train of thought in her head. Eyes looked up to offer the gentleman next to her a smile. "You can say that. I suppose the same can be said about yourself." Eyes looked him over. He was cute. She didn't recognize him, then again, she didn't know too many people in this city. She finished off her gin and tonic before she looked up at the bartender. "Can I get a glass of your finest Riesling wine?" Amelia had always been a classy girl, usually preferring a good glass of wine over hard liquor. When she was handed the glass of wine, she sipped it slowly, feeling the tension slowly leave her body.
