Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
This is what normal people do, right? They bring house warming gifts? I had seen the moving vans earlier this week just a few houses down from where I'm staying. There was a lot of stuff but then people who move out to this part of town rarely have less than two trucks full of furniture and other stuff. This is the rich part of town. It's not hard to imagine that a lot of vampires live on this side. With an eternal life span, you have plenty of time to gather your wealth. I've had many lifetimes worth but I guess I'm just more lucky than others. I knew how to keep my head down when I needed to and my maker taught me how to hide in places where no one could find me unless I wanted them to. When the car pulled up, I knew it had to be the new neighbor. A girl gets out and I watch from my window as she walks into the house. I give her plenty of time to get settled, a few hours worth, anyway. Don't want to seem creepy or anything. Then I grab a store bought apple pie and head over. I go to the gate and look around. Nice place but I have a feeling I'm not getting through without talking through the intercomm. Stupid technology advances. Heading over to it, I hit the buzzer and wait for a voice to talk back. "Um, hi. My name's Erik and I live right down the road. Just wanted to say welcome to the neighborhood." I guess that sounded polite enough. OOC: Blah, sorry so short! |
