Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Just another Night to Kill

I may not know anything about Aiden or what Samantha and he had but I want her happiness more than anything. I know we're still practically strangers and this is only our second meeting but I already feel so protective over Sam. Sure, there's attraction too but I could also think of her like a sister. Besides, the woman is grieving and I'm not going near that. Innocent flirting on the beach was one thing. Her boyfriend was alive and well then. I have enough respect for a man not to hit on his girl when he's fresh in the ground, or in this case, scattered in the air.

As she comes to sit against me, I let my arms naturally curl around her body. She suddenly feels so small and yet warm and very much alive. I can feel her heart beating through her chest and I close my eyes, focusing on my breathing like if I can keep my own heartbeat slow than maybe she can make hers match and it'll help calm her. I smile when she says that she appreciates me, that I'm a good friend. "You deserve the best of everything. Don't ever let anyone tell you different."

She smiles the minute she kisses my cheek and I don't know what triggered it but either way, it's a good look for her. "You have a beautiful smile. You should do that more often." I smile warmly. I chuckle lightly when she apologizes for her smell. "I only smell roses. I don't know what you're talking about." The corner of my lip quirks. As she goes to pull away, my arm tightens around her at first, reluctant to let go but at the same time, I don't want her to feel like I'm restraining her. My arm loosens a little. I look down at her. "You have nothing to be sorry for and I'm way more comfortable like this so unless you have something urgent to take care of, I suggest you settle right back where you were, majesty." My eyes twinkle at her teasingly, hoping to lighten the mood a little.
