Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told
A soft chuckle hummed easily from within his throat as that realisation seemed to dawn upon his lover that responding to ever single letter might be rather impractical, unless, of course, the man was so determined to dedicate all his time to it. Sebastian seemed but momentarily taken aback before that sigh of defeat seemed to leave him, the vampire so reluctantly admitting that perhaps he might reply to only some of them. Dorian so inclined to find that way he chewed upon his bottom lip so terribly endearing. The Fae forever at a loss as to how it might be so that Sebastian so often failed to see those qualities of care within himself. Dorian assured Sebastian was by far one of the most caring individuals he had ever know and yet he was assured the vampire would have scoffed at the idea else found some way by which he was undeserving of such praise. Dorian, for now, affording the idea no comment and yet he was loath to have his lover in any sort of distress when the vampire so prided himself upon those formalities of society, after all, he was correct- those letters should be replied too. They need simply find a way that was practical to do so. The Monarch's head tilted but slightly in consideration before his fingers ever-so lightly grazed his lovers arm.
"Would it be acceptable to you, perhaps, if we were to have my staff respond to things such as party invitations and inappropriate Polaroids with a standard response of sorts that you or I had written and was copied many times over and could simply be placed in an envelope and sent? A polite letter of thanks? While you answered all those other letters yourself? I shall help you of course. That way everyone would still get a reply from us."
After all, even that 'standard' letter would have been written by one of them and while perhaps far less personal it too so prevented Sebastian from having to write his apologies for their lack of attendance to a few hundred parties every week. Dorian so wholly aware off his lovers disdain (or perhaps inability) for saying 'no' in situations in which the man worried he might be deemed as impolite. Dorian so eternally finding such a trait nothing less than adorable within his lover and yet he hardly commented upon it. His silver gaze merely resting upon the man to see whether or not this idea might be acceptable to him even though it surely still required quite a significant effort on his part to respond to all those letters each week. It was that chocolate that so seemed to distract them both from the conundrum that was fan mail. The Monarch entirely assured that within the presence of chocolate his lover seemed to find incredible talent for fixating upon that treat alone- the manner in which the vampires gaze seemed to follow that bar hardly missed. This, Dorian was sure, was the very reason as to why he so took to concealing those treats from that man he adored. Sebastian so often inclined to eat far more then what Dorian deemed his half, the Fae having learned from that lava cake, that gelato and indeed near any other chocolate-themed dessert the pair had ever had. Tonight however, he was wholly inclined to share, if only because off his love for the man. Sebastian's notion that he guessed he loved Dorian too met with an eye roll once more before he so finally offered the man that bar. The vampire no sooner having reached for it then Dorian was inclined to teasingly remind him that half was all he was being offered. Ah, but how he relished moments such as this and nights such as these when it might be just them alone and the outside world itself hardly seemed to matter and that scent of chocolate and Sebastian himself and those rumpled bed sheets existed so easily around them. Dorian so coaxed into that utter relaxation and contentment as he stretched further upon the bed.
His request that his lover take no more than half of that treat however was met with a clear and distinct pout, that sheer look alone so seeming to upset the rhythm off his very heart to see it! Dorian assured that against such a glance he held no true defence, those walls of resistance readily crumbling as his own sigh fell from his lips- an entire extra row broken off that chocolate bar and handed to his lover as the Fae so assured him that he truly could not withstand the pout. Sebastian, he was sure, content to fix him with it once more as Dorian merely allowed one hand to shove playfully against him in response. Wretched creature.
"You are gorgeous when you look at me like that."
He hardly minded to admit such a thing to the man himself, that warm simper tugging at his features as he settled beside his boyfriend once more, another piece of chocolate slipped between his lips as he made mention of that date itself. After all, it had been near a whole year to the day since they had first met outside that flaming bar in the darkness of the night. Dorian so wholly determined that such a meeting would be a union for but a single night in which they might both find some ready satisfaction of the physical kind. The very sort of coupling he had partaken within for centuries and yet from the veritable beginning of that evening he had so found himself....inclined to Sebastian as he had never been another. Dorian so attempting to convince himself from that first moment that such a union would be but fleeting, the vampire would move on and yet how far from the truth such a thing have been! How unforgettable Sebastian had been so determined to be within his mind. How the man had so haunted his thoughts for days afterwards and how he did not regret, not even at all, but a moment of all they had shared until now. Dorian assured he would have it no other way. How utterly in love he was with the vampire he had tried to forget! The Fae King so content to reminisce on their first meeting when he had been far more terrified of the world then he cared to admit and those glorious lamps had held his attention within that room of the hotel he had so finally found some comfort in after several weeks of terror in unfamiliar places and nights spent sleeping on Samantha's couch. Sebastian so recalling the names of those lamps in turn.
"Ah, yes, tiffany lamps. I was very taken with them. I was taken with that whole room. It reminded me of my home- in a way. I was also terribly excited to see that bed. I'd been sleeping on Samantha's sofa until that night. Your bed was glorious."
He chuckled softly again at those idle thoughts, his features softening noticeably at Sebastian's soft admittance that he had once so feared the Monarch might tire of him, a thing Dorian was assured was wholly and entirely impossible. His form shifted easily, lips pressed to his lover's cheek in that reassuring affection that saw the vampire nestle against his shoulder in a way that sent his heart aflutter with renewed warmth all the same. Dorian content to press all the closer in turn and so relish the press off his lover's body against his own. The notion of just what they should do to celebrate that anniversary saw the man pause for several moments longer. Dorian contemplating that idea before suggesting that, perhaps, they might return to that hotel in which so much had begun. The grin upon Sebastian's lips so assuring him that this was a wholly pleasant idea. The Monarch so momentarily contemplating several off his own ideas for just how they might enjoy that bed. His head bobbed softly at his lovers assurance that he could surely see to that before the Fae so prompted a second idea of sorts, one he had considered for some time and yet one he was unwilling to suggest until he was assured enough off his own power to see it through. The Monarch, of late, having become considerably more adapt at the use of that life than he ever believed he might be. The hesitancy within his lover's voice however was hardly missed. Perhaps it was too soon for the vampire or indeed, perhaps the man was, rightly so, still fearful of that sun. Dorian wholly inclined to admit that, perhaps, such an idea might be too bold for his lover just yet- that soft simper touching his lips once more. After all, it was his very life that so depended upon staying out of that sun even if Dorian was entirely assured he could keep it from him.
"Mon Cher, if there are other ideas you like you need only say so. We have but forever to explore beaches if you should not like to do so this soon. There is much else we might do. Yet, if you should still like to try, then we shall. Merely tell me what you want."
That ready simper tugged as his lips now. Dorian, after all, was ill inclined to so press upon his lover any state of being he might find disdain within. The Fae more than willing to so find another idea should this one prove unsatisfactory, the man inquiring as perhaps so few ever had within the vampires life as to just what he wanted. Yet too- if he so wished to brave that beach then they surely would, that is, if Sebastian could even be woken during the daytime. Dorian assured it was possible in some manner. Such thought cast aside for now.
"Come, it is getting late."
He moved to shift slowly away from the vampire then, just enough as to allow him to draw those covers back to make room for them both beneath them, Dorian pausing to place what remained of the chocolate back beside the bed before snuggling beneath those blankets- waiting for his lover to join him. Sebastian had no sooner situated himself in that bed then Dorian so worked to place himself within the man's arms- a place he was rather sure he belonged. That impish grin touching his lips just so
"You know, I often sleep terribly on the nights you are not here?"
Such admittance's after all, could surely finally be made in the wake of that notion that neither of them would ever need sleep alone again.
