Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

he was both everything you could ever want
and nothing you could ever have

There was a peculiar scent found within that uv protecting cream he rubbed within his skin - one that could not be found in any other substance he had ever come in contact with. His nose wrinkled ever so slightly at the scent and yet, if it would further help to protect him in any fashion, he was willing enough to put up with such a poignant odor. His attention drifted but slightly at Dorian's outreached hand, clearly whatever sort of unpleasantness the Monarch had endured beneath those rays of light had set even the King himself willing to tolerate the peculiar chemical smell. He squeezed a dollop of that cream into his lover's palm before so diligently returning to ensuring every bare bit of his flesh was significantly slathered with that lotion. It was but the announcement of a bicycle that drew his strikingly vibrant eyes towards the window beside him, the vampire unable to help that chuckle that left his lips. He had seen the evolution of those bicycles within his own lifetime, the Englishman so informing his boyfriend of that signature object of his era. He was hardly oblivious to that look of consideration that so crossed his lover's features, that contemplation hardly surprising in any sense.

Sebastian's head shook ever so slightly at those questions he was presented with, hardly hesitating to offer the King that knowledge he seeked. "Of course they worked. We called them penny-farthings. They were quite the thing to do amongst the well to do men of my era. I'm sure the pedals were much more difficult to use in my era then they are now but...then, the penny-farthings were quite astounding compared to those boneshakers." The names of those near ancient bicycles certainly had their charm, even he was aware of that as he so attempted to explain just how different these modern contraptions were to the ones he had seen. "I do know how to ride one, though it has been quite sometime since I have last been on one." He admitted. Despite Sebastian's experience with those bicycles over the centuries, he hardly saw a need to so attempt to force the Monarch to become comfortable with their existence. After all, he was rather certain one could go lifetimes without ever having a need to so much as even touch the invention. That talk of bicycles, however, soon vanished entirely as those pristine beaches so came into view, nearly stealing the entirety of Dorian's attention. The vampire regarded that shore with not quite nearly the same awe that the sight so inspired within his lover. After all, much of his life had been spent upon the shores of distant places, the sound of those crashing waves entirely soothing for the vampire.

He remained within that vehicle as Dorian so stepped out into that brilliant light, the man clearly relishing in that brightness that was so truly flattering. Sebastian was hardly unaware of the simple fact that his love beneath the light of that sun was wholly breathtaking. It was within those daylight hours the fae truly belonged. A soft sigh left his lips as that bright yellow light became visible, Sebastian was aware entirely of Dorian's attempts to further, wordlessly assure him of that life that still flowed through his veins. He stepped hesitantly from that car, watching as the man at his side seemed so astounded by the warmth of that sand beneath his feet. It was only at that invitation to join him that Sebastian leaned down, pulling those shoes from his feet before stepping onto that warm ground beneath them. His shoes dangled from his fingertips as he followed Dorian further out onto that sand, the vampire pausing only at his boyfriend's inquiry of the last time he'd actually been on the beach in the sunlight. It was his half sister he so thought of in that moment and the seashell like things she used to collect from those shores. He turned towards the man at his side, inquiring if the Monarch knew of those Sand Dollars that had once dotted England's shores. "They were like sea shells...they were very delicate though, if you broke one, it had sand in it." Those memories of his young sister so fluttered to the surface, despite how long ago it had been.

Sebastian led the way away from that vehicle and closer towards the shore, his gaze drifting over those sand castles and screaming children towards those young women who so preferred to spend their day sprawled out in the sun. His attention upon that game of volleyball was entirely fleeting, the Englishman far more interested in a rather exquisite sand castle class going on a bit further down the beach - at least, until that ball went spiraling in their direction, landing but mere inches from their feet. He watched as Dorian bent down to pluck that ball from the sand beneath them, eying it was clear curiosity. His attention deviated only at the sudden presence of that young woman as she bounced over towards them, his bright blue eyes but briefly dancing over those assets she seemed so keen to show off. His gaze shifted briefly towards his lover at the young woman's invitation, the vampire hardly intended to accept such a proposal when Dorian hardly knew the game! He was unsurprised by that rather polite decline, even if the young girl clearly had not anticipated that she was not enough to hold their appeal. Regardless, those clearly flirtatious words coaxed a small simper to his features and briefly he gestured for Dorian to so 'show off those muscles' as she had so put it.

He watched as the King made an effort to so decide what to do with that ball and yet he was hardly prepared for the fashion in which Dorian near launched it at the group, that ball hardly going in the direction he'd clearly intended it to go. Even he could not help the laughter that bubbled on his lips as that volleyball so went wide, colliding quite solidly into the girl's unsuspecting companion. He made no effort, however, to stop Dorian's efforts to so rush them away from the group in the wake of that rather...intriguing throw. That smile was still ever present upon his features as the Monarch so seemed content to draw his attention to something else entirely, commenting instead upon the woman's rather forward nature as she had so attempted to coax them into that game. His head bobbed ever so slightly in understanding of that tact his lover so referred to. After all, within his era, that demure nature of women was regarded as a marriage worthy quality, if not entirely expected. His steps came to a rather abrupt standstill as Dorian moved to step in front of him, his bright blue eyes so entirely steadfast upon his boyfriend in that moment of flirtation.

The vampire was all too willing to lean into that feather light touch that brushed across his forehead, pushing those blonde locks aside before those fingers trailed downwards in a fashion Sebastian wholly yearned for more of. His lips contorted into the slightest of frowns as his lover stepped away, that declaration of how easy it was saw the man roll his eyes under those blue lenses. A soft snort left his nose at the notion of how utterly effective Dorian had declared those flirtatious antics to be. "Admittedly, I would have done anything you asked for as long as it meant a night in your bed." He confessed, though truly things had changed rather little in that regard. When the vampire decided he wanted something, he was entirely willing to go through whatever lengths necessary to achieve such a desire. His persistent courting of the fae King in those early days surely evident of this. Regardless, his fingers intertwined with Dorian's own as he trailed closer towards the water, letting that wetness touch his feet as he glanced down at the seashells that lined the shore. "Oh look, there's one." He stated, bending down to pluck that sand dollar from the shore before presenting it to the Monarch at his side.
