Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Arlo James
See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch
This night, so far, was not going at all the way Arlo had anticipated and yet he couldn't exactly say he was sad about it. Really, he kinda liked the English guy even if was a bit strange. After all, who didn't own a tv? That fact alone so seeming to have startled the younger vampire more then any other even if he hardly commented upon it then and there. If he didn't have a tv then what did he do with his time? Maybe he spent it getting dressed. Yeah. He looked like the sort who took a really long time to get dressed in his probably expensive clothing and fancy shoes and whatever it was he was wearing that even Arlo was willing to admit smelled pretty good. The younger vampire having momentarily cast a glance at his own less than impressive sneakers that were borderline threadbare and clinging to life with a failing desperation. As long as they were still intact though the man was assured they did the job. His jeans were perhaps as equally un-astounding. In fact, the only article of clothing he owned that was perhaps worth anything was that hooded jacket he had been gifted from his little pet. Well, he assumed it was from her. Although how a Panda had even wrapped a gift remained to be seen. Still, he was hardly going to complain. It was the nicest jacket he'd ever owned.
If he had held any doubts about his newfound companion they had surely come to light the moment the drugged out man had started poking that blonde girl in the forehead, Arlo incapable of preventing that eye roll that beset him before batting the man's hand away and bemoaning the fact he'd just taken sex advice from him. If this was Sebastian's move set when it came to women then Arlo was at a loss to explain how he ever got laid at all. Surely women didn't actually like getting poked in the head? It was with some measure of amusement however that he set about lifting Sebastian back onto his own feet only to teleport them both down to the main street before promptly releasing the English vampire. Sebastian hardly disappointing him as he careened into a lamp post, Arlo chuckling readily, entirely content to just watch the other vampire flounder around. Smart ass. Thought he could get his own food. Ha! Arlo remaining close by all the same, hardly willing to allow anything to happen to Sebastian. This newfound game entirely in good nature, the younger vampire so hardly having anticipated the way not one but two women suddenly crossed the street before proceeding to throw themselves onto Sebastian as if the other vampire was the last drink of water in a desert.
For several moments still the dark-haired man merely stood, that look of utter astonishment lingering upon his eternally-youthful features before those soft, breathy moans of the woman seemed to linger within the air. Sebastian, for his part, hardly seeming to be doing more then holding her as he fed from those little wounds. How.....was he doing that? Any further thoughts upon the matter were abruptly ended as that first woman so abandoned the Englishman to wander over to himself. It was nice to be noticed- at last. Her fingers teased an entirely welcome pattern on the skin just beneath his shirt, an entirely different set of desires pressing upon him then. Arlo almost instinctively drawing her closer and yet those neat little bite wounds from Sebastian tugged at his curiosity then, Arlo worrying at them just a little, if only to taste but a drop or two of that blood. It was...disappointing. The vampire assured it was as dull as human blood often tended to be too him and nothing at all like what ran through Sebastian's veins. The vampire all-too reluctantly releasing her, that grin returned to his features as he headed back towards the now remarkably recovered Englishman as that second woman was sent on her way. Arlo shoving at Sebastian's shoulder playfully, the other vampire apparently content to announce he had talents in turn.
"Alright, points to you bud, you made a fool out of me this time. Is that what your bite does? Some sort of pleasure? I could hear them moaning from over there. You must have been first in line at the Power's Pool that day."
That grin edged its way back onto his features, Arlo an entirely good-natured being, at least- when he wasn't hungry. The man so easily having settled into Sebastian's company as he never had quite managed with another vampire before. After all their species, by nature, wasn't exactly inclined to be all the friendly- especially not to him. Sebastian an apparent anomaly and yet one Arlo was hardly inclined to let go just yet. It had been ages since he'd met anyone he'd wanted to spend time with, much less take to a party in the hopes of picking up girls. Sebastian, he was sure, basically the gold standard in wingmen. After all, what better wingman existed then some sort of vampire siren sex deity or whatever he was? Arlo not about to inform the other vampire of his newfound title anytime soon, Seb had already had one ego boost for the night- he surely didn't need another. Arlo half anticipating the man to say no all the same. Sebastian's admittance that he had no other plans for the evening and that they could surely get him laid by the end of the night seeing Arlo's own blue gaze lift in a momentary surprise before that easy grin returned once more. The idea of having some of those more physical needs met after a year long dry spell far more enticing then he cared to admit.
"I'm holding you to that promise, Seb. C'mon then."
It was easy to turn towards the downtown then, Arlo waiting only as long as it took Sebastian to fall into step beside him, the younger vampire content to lead the way to where he knew a handful of parties were going on tonight, giving them a choice of just which one they wanted to hit. God he couldn't remember the last time he'd gone out at night just for fun! So much of his life now revolved around trying to find food and then trying not to die while he did it. Then trying to get home before the sun fried him. His attention shifted briefly to the Englishman as they walked.
"Do you really not have a tv? What do you do with your time?"
It was, Arlo felt, an entirely legitimate question, the man taking that next street before heading towards the nearest club. This one, he knew, had been hired out by the local college for the mid-semester break party. Who didn't like college girls? Arlo entirely sure this was where those two girls from before had been heading, the music loud enough to be heard from the street. They just needed to find a way in. Arlo content to go for a direct approach the first time, merely striding right up to that door like he belonged, the girl standing beside it wearing the tightest pair of jeans he'd ever seen on a woman as she asked for their names. Since when did you need names to get into these things? Arlo leaning slightly forward to glance at that list in her hands.
"Yeah, we're the band."
A momentary look of dubiousness seemed to cross the girls features before she glanced down at that list, looking back at Arlo once more, the man trying for his most dashing smile. Your Doomsday Train? The punk rock band? Alright, maybe they didn't exactly look the part for punk rock, anything else, literally anything else and they'd surely have pulled it off- maybe they still could. Although what sort of shit name was Doomsday Train for a band? That grin hardly faltered from his features, Arlo, if anything, entirely skilled in simply acting as if everything was fine. As if he was entirely in control.
"Babe, we may not look it, but we play hard. We're late and we need to get changed, your events committee doesn't get their deposit back if we're late because one of its members doesn't let us in."
One eye lifted as if daring her to argue, the threat of her fellow classmates turning on her clearly enough to see her wave them in with directions to a spare room at the back to change in. Arlo stepping easily into that club with Sebastian in tow. The building positively overflowing with 20-something year old college students.
"If in doubt, always threaten a college student with the risk of having to pay for something. Works every time, bud."
A brunette woman strode past the pair, her gaze readily lingering on them both in turn as one finger wrapped salaciously around a ringlet of hair before she moved to lean against the far wall beside one of her friends, both girls glancing towards them now. Hmm. This night was looking up. Arlo effortlessly making his way through to the bar, turning back to his newfound companion now as he slid onto that bar stool.
"Alright, what's your poison? If your getting me laid, I'll help get you drunk- I'm generous like that and I reckon I can drink you under the table, just saying...."
