Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

Beylani wanted to fight back against her attacker, heart being wildly in her chest and drumming in her ears as he continued to hold her against his icy frame. She thinks back to that night not so very long ago, thinks back to that eerie chill that had crawled over her skin as she stood there beneath the spotlight of the lamp post in the dead silence of Sacrosanct. It was easy to remember, even as everything seemed to fall away, how menacing those buildings had looked that night, nothing more than dark shapes towering over her in all directions. Something hadn't felt right then, the still silence of the streets and lack of life making it all seem as though she'd stepped into some horror movie, and she had been the foolish woman wandering through the dark walking right into the arms of a serial killer. But then, Andras had appeared and that unnerving chill ebbed away and the silence didn't seem so heavy as it shattered beneath those honey-smooth midnight tenor tones that had certainly surprised her in more ways than one. His words echo faintly in the back of her thoughts now, those warning words playing back and leaving that sense of regret to prick at her weakening mind. If she had listened to him, if she had simply chosen to drive to that Halloween party rather than walk, things would have been different. She wouldn't have been walking alone through the streets of Sacrosant in the dead of night as she had been warned with several times by the fae man she was so fascinated by and mysteriously drawn to. She wouldn't be pressed against this dark man, this creature whose grip did not ease as the iciness of his touch drained away the warmth of her slender frame, fangs embedded into the soft skin of her neck.

Fear clutches at the blue-eyed blonde as she can feel herself growing weaker as fire seems to ignite the skin of her nape and steadily intensifies as the sensation begins to overwhelm the rest of her, trickling down into her arm and her breast. So this was what the end felt like? The feeling of liquid flame burning her veins all while in the same moment feeling colder than she had ever felt before in her short life, heartbeat growing weaker and weaker as that crimson life source was stolen from the young woman, she cannot help but begin to accept that her final moments in this world would end in nothing but pain and regret. She does not feel the oozing of blood that erupts from the punctures and runs slowly down onto her elegantly curled locks and sparkling fairy costume, the only sense of the world outside being the pressure of those cold lips and immobilizing pain as he increases the pressure in his jaws. All she can do so groan in agony, perhaps in same sort of weak hope that maybe he would be capable of some sort of remorse, and even then the sound that managed to slip past those blush-colored lips parted ever so slightly was so weak that she knew better than to hope that someone walking on the street might hear her. There was no one walking through the streets at this hour, and with this thought she feels one last wave of indescribable fear as her body instinctively fights against the rapid approach of her fate. Did they feel as humans did? Were they capable of guilt? Questions that she would never have the answer to...

It becomes hard to breathe now, an invisible weight crashing down onto her as she grew limp in that cold embrace, thick lashes fluttering slowly over those glazed baby blues, each blink making it harder and harder for Beylani to stay awake. She knew that if she surrendered to the darkness, there would be no seeing the light again and even if that light was nothing more than the blurred beacon of street lights just around the corner of the shadowed alleyway, she clung to it with desperation. Flashes of her family flicker across her fading thoughts as the memories resurface one by one like they always showed in the movies. She is taken back to the gently swaying golden fields of wheat and for a moment she can almost feel the warmth of the sun on her cheeks. Her mother is with her, those same blonde locks stirring in the soft summer breeze that brushes across the fields of Willowhaven. Her small hand reaches for her mother's, and the woman happily obliges as she takes the little girl's into her own."You have such a bright future, Lani. No matter what you do or where you go in life, remember that your father and I will always love you".... The memory fades and shifts as it carries her to a more recent place in time. She is back in the safety of her apartment now, sitting there upon that closed toilet as the dark and handsome fae rummaged through the cupboards to find a brown bottle. He snatches a towel from where it had been hanging and takes her hand in his."This is going to sting"..... Hazel eyes lock with hers and he begins to tend to those minute wounds, wiping the blood and peroxide away gently with the warm rag. It had been startling just how incredibly gentle he'd looked in that moment."I'm sorry about tonight".... The memory fades and somehow, there is a peace that finds her now. I am too... Andras...

She was unsure if she had imagined it, the sound of her name upon a familiar voice as she begins to fade away into unconsciousness. What she does feel is the ground beneath her shaking and suddenly the blue-eyed blonde is falling. Was this real? Or was this what it was like to die? The icy embraces is gone and she does not feel that pressure upon her neck but now she feels only the cold dampness of the concrete she lays upon in a crumbled heep. She forces herself to focus and she sees him thrusting the assailant into the brick wall on the opposite side of the alleyway, followed by another crash that sounded as though it were a thousand miles away as she teeters on the brink of life and death. He roars those words of his at the vampire and then seconds later there is a sickening crunching sound and suddenly she sees red splashing across his bare skin. Her mind is hardly able to register what happens when he tears that heart from the creature in that black trench coat, his strong hand gripping the bleeding organ as the vampire falls to the ground at the fae man's feet, lifeless. Only seconds more pass though to the young woman they felt like hours, everything starting to move in slow motion as he releases his hold on the heart and moves over to kneel before her. He reaches for her, crimson droplets splashing over that sequin costume as they trickled and fell from those strong fingers that come so close to her skin."Andras", she whispers breathlessly as it takes everything she has to say his name. Gathering what little remains of her strength, she reaches out her hand to his own bloodied one. She needed to know if this was real, that she wasn't already gone... She feels that warmth of his skin, caring little about the blood that stained her own fair skin now as she grasps weakly at the strong hand of the fae man. Please don't pull away... Her chest rises and falls faintly as again her vision begins to fail her."I'm... so cold", she ushers weakly. She wants so badly to move over to him so that just maybe a warm embrace would be the last thing she gets to feel in this life rather than the icy hold of the creature who had come so close to killing her only to be foiled by the one who always seemed to know where she was. And how very grateful she was for the dark fae man now as she fights to keep her hold on his hand before finally everything is swallowed by pitch black, no longer able to hang onto her consciousness, weak heart still beating, shallow breaths still whispering and frighteningly faint; the only signs that she still clings to that fragile life figuratively hanging by the thinnest of threads. Please don't leave...
