Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He knew the news of their impending child would slowly be released to the world one way or another, but he would keep it secret for as long as he could for the safety of Amelia and the baby. He had only told a select few people. In fact, only two, Dorian and Andras. It helped that they were pretty much the only people in Sacrosanct that he really knew. He figured that somehow it would come out to others but he wanted to have a little control over who. He didn't know who Amelia would choose to tell but he knew she would be careful about it since she cared just as much about the baby as he did, if not more because she was carrying him/her 24/7. He had heard that she had met Dorian's other half while out on the town before and knew it was after her pregnancy so maybe there was a tell tale bump at the time. It wouldn't surprise him with how quickly the baby has grown. He only hoped that they could trust Sebastian to keep the secret. At least this dinner would help him get to know the vampire better. He had heard the impending plans to wed and it seemed to be a big deal in Sacrosanct and really, the world. Must be because of Dorian's royalty title. He had seen the newspapers circulating and the paparazzi wandering the streets but it only made him more nervous. TV cameras could mean Amelia could end up on them with a baby bump and then who knows who might recognize her. Someone from her past? Anyone who could recognize a vampire when they saw one? He was more paranoid than ever with all the publicity and while he was happy for Dorian and his fiance, he just wanted the wedding to be over with so the strangers would all leave town. He put on his polite smile as the two men entered the home though. His smile was warm for Dorian since he knew and trusted the other fae. He listened as Dorian politely greeted Amelia before shaking his hand and stepping aside. He could hear Dorian congratulating Amelia as he shook Sebastian's hand next, though his gaze snapped to them protectively when he heard the catch in Dorian's voice. Troy's gae searched Dorian's features for clues but the man was unreadable, his lips forming a simper again as if nothing happened as he asked when the child is due. Troy's brows furrowed in puzzlement as he glanced at Amelia in question, wondering what had happened. He had managed to chuckle and nod when Sebastian commented about Dorian speaking good of him. "Only the best." He assured him with a smile. Earlier he had been able to tease Amelia like only he could about her dress, to which she chided him playfully and said they had to be dinner hosts first. He snorted. "And then dessert." He grinned, his eyes lighting up as he moved with her toward the door. When he asked if she was okay, she smiled but he could tell it was a little forced, assuring him that she was just nervous and the baby could sense it. She had even emphasized the baby's gender though the doctor hadn't been able to tell them. He chuckled. "Ah, well we'll just have to let her know everything's going to be okay then." He smiled warmly, his hand reaching out to caress her stomach lovingly. He was willing to play along with her emphasis on the baby being a girl since he knew no matter what, it would have him wrapped around its little finger. Amelia was a gracious host as he knew she would be, apologizing for not introducing herself before making sure Dorian got his wine. She was good at this kind of stuff while Troy had never really been to a dinner party before of any kind, unless it was the kind he was crashing to hunt down a creature. It seemed Amelia hadn't picked up on the little trail off of Dorian's voice, jumping right into how nervous she was about the baby being born. She was so smooth with admitting that no one could have prepared them for this but he wouldn't have it with anyone else. He smiled, his eyes softening as he watched her. He could listen to her for hours. When Dorian asked about the pregnancy she took it all in stride, letting him know that frankly, they had no idea when to expect the child. She said that they'd only met 5 months ago and he smirked, moving to her side. "Has it only been that long? Feels much longer." As the expert host she was, Amelia then turned her attention to Sebastian, asking how he was so Troy politely moved his gaze to the other vampire, though he was still curious enough to watch Dorian from the corner of his vision. |
