Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

He hadn't exactly considered that maybe Dorian and Seb hadn't had the whole 'family' conversation yet. After all, didn't married people talk about that before they got married? Not that he supposed he knew. He'd never been married and he sure as hell had never even come close to the children discussion. Not that he supposed he'd ever really need to have that one to begin with. He was pretty sure he couldn't do the whole kids thing. Mostly sure. That very query as he pieced together those pieces offered to Sebastian then only for the man to nod in agreement. Abby too seeming to agree with that unlikely possibility of a vampire actually being able to father anything. It made sense really. Vampires were dead after all. Sort of. Patrick having been right all those years ago it seemed. Not that Arlo supposed he had doubted him. Still- he could hardly help that question on whether or not Seb and Dorian intended for that family all the same. They just....seemed the type he supposed. Hell, he wasn't even sure what it was about the pair that seemed to make him think they'd be good parents they just...seemed like they would. They were so....adult and stable- financially and physically- that house they sat in right now looked totally stable in the least. Seb was a good guy and even though he'd only just met Dorian he could already tell that the man was much the same. He could see how much that couple loved each other even without any of that constant touching or making out. The way the pair looked at each other said it all and maybe it wouldn't be so bad if one kid in the damn world could have good parents. Even if they were both dudes and one was a vampire.

Surely they could adopt right? Especially if Sebastian was incapable of children at all and Dorian, in the very least, might have a lower chance. Then again he supposed there was always that....thing where you paid a woman to have a baby for you with a...er....donation from one of the guys. That child, in the very least, genetically one of theirs then right? There had to be more than just one way of doing it. Maybe Abby knew. Hell, maybe the pair didn't even want kids which, he supposed, was alright as well. Arlo's gaze lingering on Dorian then as the Fae King mentioned that very perk of immortality and that Seb and he, in the least, had a relatively un-ending period of time in which to decide whether or not they ever wanted that family. Really, he supposed, they were right. Hell, when you were immortal you did kinda have forever. Dorian suggesting he wasn't exactly ready to share his fiance's attention with a baby just yet. Seb apparently declaring that dog already too much as that chuckle rose within Arlo's own throat.

"Well for what it's worth I think you'd be great parents, the both of you. I kinda worry for any future kid you might have trying to learn how to write his last name when it's that long, but still, I reckon you'd both be good. How is Max anyway? Bet he's big now."

The memory of that wiggling ball of delight Seb had pilfered from that drug dealer that night he'd been high still managed to coax a grin to his own lips, Arlo briefly glancing around for that dog he suspected was largely being seen too by one of the servants if only to prevent his exuberance happening all over that meal. Abby would have liked to meet him he was sure. Maybe they could go and find him after dessert. It was Abby's question on Fae and Father's though that seemed to intrigue Dorian further then. The Monarch making some effort to explain that lack of bond between Fae Maker and whoever they made. Fae, apparently, lacking any desire to mentor those beings they turned, evidently preferring their own biological children- if Dorian was anything to go by all the same. That story of just how this Matteo guy had come to make so many Fae though saw Arlo's own head tilt slightly. How the hell did you get trapped in a palace? Had he not been able to find the door? How big was this palace? It must have been for a long time if those human staff had simply died during those years. Arlo suddenly finding himself almost afflicted with those questions he wasn't exactly sure he should ask. Maybe he could ask Seb later, yeah, maybe he'd do that. Arlo glancing toward Abby once more.

"You should see Dorian's dad, he's like a....model or something."

Even Arlo was willing to admit to that. Maybe it was better if Abby didn't see him- on second thoughts. His Little Bear suddenly commenting on how alike Dorian's tale was with that story of beauty and the beast. Really, he supposed it was when he thought about it. At least, if he was thinking off the right story. He hadn't seen those movies since he was like.....six years old. Dorian, for his part, hardly seemed to understand the story at all. Who the hell didn't know beauty and the beast? Seb making some effort to explain something to his fiance in spanish or chinese or whatever language that was. Arlo's attention shifted to searching for dessert before Seb readily tried to assure that apparently horrified Abby that they would find Dorian a disney movie, Arlo's own eyes rolling playfully before it was his turn to prompt those questions to the table at large. After all, his issues with.....other men had only seemed to have gotten worse lately. Arlo mostly sure it was his vibe. It had to be. He was giving off some sort of.....something that seemed to make boys think he liked boys. It had to be the jeans right? He wasn't gay he was sure of it and yet somehow he seemed to be convincing half the city that he was. Arlo hardly having prepared himself for that laughter that suddenly seemed to erupt from every part of the table!

Abby's assurance it was because he was pretty was hardly helped by Dorian's insistence that it actually was the jeans, any help the man had hoped to receive from Sebastian on this front all but dashed in the wake of the other vampires assurance he was channeling the Backstreet Boys. Arlo vehemently attempting to defend himself in that moment- which really only seemed to amuse Seb more as Dorian asked exactly what they were doing in those backstreet's, the idea apparently having gone right over poor Abby's head and yet Sebastian's isistance he would show his fiance just what those boys had been doing readily prompted that wide grin to his own lips. Someone was getting lucky tonight! His eyes rolling playfull all the same at the pair of men before the presence of dessert drew his own attention, Arlo paused only at that realisation that Sebastian's treat almost seemed to contain something a little....extra in turn.

His own spoon dipped readily into that cream, Arlo seeing little need to wait in any sense as he proceeded to near inhale that meal with the same vigour he had the others. He'd almost forgotten the taste of food altogether. Arlo hardly daring to miss even a morsel of that meal even if it was purely the edition of Sebastian's blood that inspired that enthusiasm for the food all the same. Arlo frowning ever so slightly then at another thought.

"Hey Seb, I haven't eaten food, like....real human food like this in, christ, I don't even know. Seriously i haven't even so much as tasted anything in years and years and I just ate like.....a lot. Am I going to get indigestion or something later? Is that how this works?"

Vampires didn't need food after all, hell, did they even digest it? Arlo suddenly almost concerned for what that meal might do to his stomach after it hadn't exactly had to do anything in a really long time. Still, he wasn't about to stop eating his dessert all the same. Arlo's spoon scraping at the bottom of that dish a short time later before he queried that consensus of the table that he needed to cut his hair and change his jeans. Abigail's quiet declaration that she liked him just the way he was prompting that warm grin, lopsided as always, back to his own lips. It was such a small thing, so...simple and innocent and yet, somehow, it meant something.

"Thanks, babe."

He offered simply, that grin flashed towards her once more. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to ask her tonight if she wanted to...maybe....not just be his friend. It was like Seb said right? He had to ask her to move him out of the friend zone or he was going to be there forever. He had to be forward because she, well, stuff did seem to go over her head. He was pretty sure even Dorian had a better idea of what the backstreet boys were doing in the backstreets then Abby did. God it had a habit of making him nervous though, thinking about what to say to her or how to say it. Arlo content to mull over those very words as the others finished their dessert and those dishes were cleared away. Tonight had gone, well, way better then he had anticipated it would. Surely well enough that Abby might actually want to keep spending time with him right? That nervousness starting to claw at him again.

"I suppose we ought to start heading home, Ab's but thanks for having us over Seb- you too Dorian. You turned out to be kinda cool for a King, I mean, I dunno what i was expecting but you were better. Sorry about thinking you couldn't speak english earlier too, bud."
