Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king has a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

His Royal Majesty

Dorian Ellington-Aragona

The King of Italy

How he so hardly meant to laugh at the poor woman and yet how readily that laughter came all the same. That very sound good nature in the least. How very baffled Raven appeared on that notion of those more intimate affairs! The woman, in that moment, reminding him desperately of the women off his own time. So very many of them hardly knowing the touch of a man until their marriage. The very topic so prompting those sweet blushes to their features. How very curious it was that Raven, a woman whom was undoubtedly not a virgin, might still blush so profusely at its very mention! Dorian's soft assurance that Raven could surely discuss those very things with her husband only seemed to prompt that shake of her own head. Raven seeming decidedly unsure over that very concept. Dorian unable to prevent that quizzical look from finding his features before she commented in a fashion near defeated that she would hardly know where to start such a thing. Did she and Tobias not ever discuss it? Surely they must! What couple did not? How very many questions Dorian so suddenly seemed inclined to have. He had several ideas of where that couple might start and yet he so hardly desired to embarrass the poor woman any further. Her poor face surely incapable of taking on any further heat from her cheeks.

"Next time you are both alone together, perhaps?"

It was a rather open suggestion, one that surely gave Raven exceptional opportunity to decide how she felt about the matter and so bring it up when she was comfortable. Tobias, he supposed, might prove a rather difficult being to talk to and yet surely the boy had at least some understanding, didn't he? Dorian allowed such thoughts to pass for now, his head shaking lightly as if to clear his mind from those considerations. Raven, in turn, directing that conversation towards himself and those crowds that so often threatened to batter down his very gates. Raven's suggestions of scaring away those very beings met with his own attempt to explain his role as King and what he could or could not demand of others. The inner politics of government so hardly easy to understand in any sense. His and Sebastian's own roles within that Monarchy and parliament difficult enough in turn to explain to another without so much as going into depth on those ministers and parliamentarians and the public itself. Dorian reached for his own tea then as Raven made some attempt to explain how that manner of.....government? Perhaps that was the wrong word. Authority perhaps? How that authority within the Were world was given to work. Tetradore considered some sort of King amongst the Weres- at least in the West. Dorian holding little knowledge of how those territorial boundaries worked. Perhaps he could ask his brother the next time they spoke.

"It is much the same for myself I suppose, but on a far larger scale and encompassing more than one species. I cannot go about doing anything I desire for those same consequences. My parliament assists me in making those decisions- even if those debates so often try my patience entirely."

That warm simper found his lips once more at that consideration of how foolish parliament could be at times and those arguments that, on occasion, went on long into the day when he would much rather sleep and Sebastian had all but collapsed beside him. The matter of that golden tea set, that wedding gift from Sebastian and himself, was quickly decided. Dorian adamant he would only continue to send her tea sets until she was forced to keep them. Raven very near forced to relent upon keeping that gift. The Monarch thoroughly satisfied with that minor victory over his companion. At least until that mention of his Father. Matteo's presence in the existence of anyone's life so often....debatable as to whether or not it was truly a good thing. That surprise upon the Monarch's features so dancing upon that very line of wariness all at once. Why on earth had Matteo seen fit to visit Raven? What had he told her? How did he even begin to explain the Frenchman! His very efforts, it seemed, only promoted disbelief in Raven herself. His use of the word 'seer' resulting in that shake of her head and that determined insistence that seers did not exist. That such a thing was a cheap parlour trick so designed to steal people's money.

That look of surprise to readily found the Monarch's features once more. How very willing he was to speak of his Fathers, well.....odd behaviour and demeanour in general. The man outrightly annoying on some occasions and yet that Matteo might parade as some sort of con-artist was almost....offensive. That very suggestion tugging that scowl on his features. His own head shaking then.

"Darling, you, a woman whom can turn into a wolf, are sitting at a table with a six hundred year old Fae and you mean to state seers do not exist?"

One eye lifted just so. After all, a Seer was surely far more believable than a woman whom could take on the form of a wolf or a Fae whom had seen life for the better part of nearly six centuries.

"I assure you, Matteo's gifts are no parlour trick. Irritating though they may be in the fashion he might use them on occasion. If he has told you of the future, then it is likely true."

The future could change, as Matteo so often said and yet Dorian so hardly sought to debate fate and destiny in this moment when such subjects so often confused him entirely. That very announcement that Matteo had predicted children however saw that grin find the Fae Kings features. Such delightful news! Why on earth Raven might find any distress in such a thing he hardly knew! The woman appearing positively nervous over the idea before confirming she was terrified. A child between two different species so apparently rare and difficult to conceive. Such a thought surprisingly logical when considered. After all, that biology would be both compatible and incompatible all at once. How fascinating. Perhaps he would ask Abby about it. Raven pushed away from that table then, Dorian watching with surprise as she so began to pace back and forth. His query upon when that child would be due so evidently a distressing one. Raven very near a fountain of words in that moment that followed as she spoke readily of all Matteo had told her. That look of bafflement upon the Monarchs features hardly faltering. His words, when they came, cautious if only for fear of distressing the woman and yet they lacked no assurity in those accented tones.

"Forgive me Raven, but it appears to me as if Matteo did not tell you anything....unpleasant at all. A healthy child with a gifted intellect, a healthy pregnancy and yourself and your husband so destined to be good parents. Such things sound as if they are blessings to myself. I fear I perhaps do not quite understand your distress. I suppose I cannot rightly say what 'interesting moments' are but I do not suspect it is bad. One does not consider moments of great distress 'interesting'. He may well have chose such a word on purpose. My Father, I fear, is very good at disappearing right when you desire to question him the most. In the very least it seems he distracted you from your worries- whatever they were at the start. Are you not at all excited for such news?"
