Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There was always a certain kind of excitement that came from trying something new, and one of the best things about living in the city that was ever changing. Coming from a "historic" city had meant little had changed despite the decades which passed, but Sacrosanct was more like a living, breathing organism with something new to discover every time she ventured how. It only made her love the place more, and sharing that experience with a friend made it even better. The last thing she expected, however, as they entered the newly opened shop was to find the decidedly feline motif carried on from the signage outside. For a breath she missed the walls decorated in a trail of paw decals, glancing at the menu until movement in those windows caught her attention. It was in that moment that everything clicked and she realized what waited just beyond the glass.
Round, whiskered faces peering from cat towers or fluffy beds set around their room with toys strewn all around them. Despite her southern upbringing, Carolina wasn't inherently religious but for a moment she thought this might be what heaven should look like. Her excitement was obvious, unable to restrain herself from grabbing the toned arm of the hunter as she nearly squealed with delight. Alistair's surprise was nearly palpable though her hazel eyes didn't stray from their focus as she took in those felines for a moment longer. Only able to draw her gaze away as he questioned if she wanted to visit inside to give her heartfelt confirmation, though she was at least willing to compromise that they could get their drinks and eat first. It seemed her neighbor was more than onboard with that part of the plan as they approached the register to order.
Alistair ordered first, giving her time to peruse the menu and various pastries in the case before them. Once he had finished and turned towards her she stepped up beside him and placed her own as well. Fishing a hand into the back pocket of her jeans as she finished and extracting that debit card at the same moment the dark hired man beside her flipped open his wallet with the same intent. With her upbringing the leopard was more than familiar with the typical social rules that dictated this sort of thing. And while she might not agree with all those strict conventions, it certainly wasn't worth causing a scene over some coffee and scones. Instead the blonde merely laughed it off, ensuring that Alistair knew she was more than willing to buy their refills though she wouldn't hold her breath that he would necessarily allow that either being a gentleman and all. His mouth quirking downward before he replied as answer enough and only caused her own smile to widen in return.
Sliding her card back into her pocket she murmured that appreciation as the woman behind the counter prepared their order, Alistair's reply one of obligatory response. Something about it caused that flair of impulsivity to spark, the desire to surprise him in some way that had her leaning in slightly and asking what it might take for her to get a taste of his baked good. That wink thrown in for good measure as she simply could not resist that urge to flirt with him at least a little. His stilted reply was indication enough that she had set him at least slightly off kilter, and she was human enough to enjoy that fact. He held that pumpkin bread out to her, and while for a moment she considered wrapping her lips around it as it sat in his hand it was likely not the time or place for that. Instead she reached out her hand and broke off a bite-sized piece, popping the delicious pastry in her mouth.
The bread was delicious, a small sound of enjoyment humming in her throat as she savored it and dared a glance back up at her companion.
