Anacosta Heights

Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I wonder what it's like to be loved by you

The burlesque was the only place Tetradore could feasibly consider as the backdrop for meeting someone like her. Surely that would have explained this vague feeling of familiarity despite his inability to place her - after all, the outfits Nadya had once chosen were...ostentatious to say the least. His tenant's gaze seemed to widen, the query clearly caught her off guard as she eyed him in bafflement. The look alone conveyed the answer long before any syllable left her lips.

Dancing, it seemed, was not something the young woman considered a forte...in any capacity.

His brow furrowed ever so slightly, a soft sound reverberated in the back of Tetradore's throat - where did he know her from? Maybe he just...didn't. He'd heard of people like her before - ones who just...had familiar faces. Maybe it was just one of life's little...peculiarities? Or some...weird manifestation of a power she wasn't aware of or didn't yet control? That sounded more likely.

"Eh...sorry." He uttered, clearing his throat before purposefully turning the conversation back to the entire reason he was present tonight in the first place - her thermostat.

She rose to her feet as he spoke, though the young woman didn't seem...particularly concerned for her malfunctioning HVAC system as she attempted to gesture him out the door. It was an odd shift within her, considering it had been important enough to text him in the first place. Was she...afraid of him? No - it couldn't be that...he didn't sense fear. Fear called out to him, begged him to take heed, to twist and contort it into outright terror till it mirrored the nightmarish hellscape of his own damned life. There was something far more...gentle about her. Sadness...maybe?

Whatever thoughts combed through her mind went unspoken as the girl nodded at him in silence, only to slip past him and into the hallway he'd only just emerged from. He found himself tensing as she moved past him, his senses on alert at the distinct lack of...nothingness that seemed to surround her. No scent. Nothing that could place her firmly here. He couldn't even tell for certainty what she was. It was as if she was a ghost - destined to slip through the world while leaving as little of an imprint as possible.

She was the stark opposite of him.

Where she was a phantom - he was a fucking wrecking ball.

The emerald of his gaze followed her swaying hips down the hallway before she paused in front of the ladder - one Tetradore had every intention to return to its proper place in the closet. His offer, however, was dismissed as she reached out, struggling with the clasps that held it firmly in place. His lips pressed together, a soft breath of air leaving his nose in a barely audible sigh. This girl was...maddening. Soft and quiet and fiercely stubborn and clearly way too damn indecisive. He remained where he was, one brow slowly cocking upward as she tugged at the unmoving bit of metal.

She glanced back at him...only to smile as she tried, yet again, to convince him to leave the apartment. The Were-King found himself rolling his eyes at her desperate attempts to be freed of him, the Alpha hardly one to linger where he was clearly not wanted. "Yeah." He answered simply, one foot stepping towards the door before the sharp sound of wood and metal clattering together saw him pause.

He glanced back at her, her hand clasped to her chest as tears streamed down her eyes and across her cheeks. The distinct coppery scent of blood toyed at his nose - the smell one he knew far too well. "You should have let me do that." He grumbled as he stepped into the hallway, moving past her to finish collapsing the ladder, only to lean it against the wall. The last thing he needed was for the half open ladder to fall on them or...something equally as ridiculous.

"Let me see it." He demanded, his hand held out to her, his palm upright.

This was, after all his tenant. Someone who fell under his responsibility. He wouldn't have been right to simply leave her bleeding in the hallway crying by herself.

His adoptive 'father' would have given him an earful later.
