Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The woman's words were true, Samantha supposed. Her fear at working on the fashion that she enjoyed so much led towards the fear of being laughed at. But of course, that was something she was growing increasingly used to. After all, how many times had she been laughed at for her new role in leading the local faeries? How many people thought she wouldn't be able to succeed in the role that she had placed herself in? Perhaps, after all that, the dream of designing might be an easier goal to keep in mind. "I'll think about it," She replied easily, holding still just long enough for the cap to be secured on her head before she was off, returning not long after with her sketchbook to thrust into Nadya's hands. It was easy, after that, to allow her attention to be entirely on the two cubs in her apartment.

"For the record," Samantha said after a moment as she cooed at Micah, her eyes lifting to Nadya as her sketchbook was cast aside. "I don't think it was stupid that you opened the Cat's Meow. It's such a fitting place for you. And it's thriving." It was true, of course. While Sam would have liked to have taken credit for part of the booming business, she knew it was entirely Nadya's charm and business sense. She paused, listening to the critique of her work. "I can do that." She replied with a shrug. "Especially if I'm going to be around here babysitting. It's not too hard to whip out my sewing machine after putting them down."

But even the fashion was cast aside quickly as her friend bestowed a new title on her, one that meant eternally more to her than the title of queen ever would. An only child, Samantha would never be anyone's aunt. And now the woman in front of her was putting that title on her for the two cubs that were under her care. The blush that flooded her cheeks was immediate, as was the smile that came along with it. It was so easy to love the two babies that she had cared for. She'd loved them when their personalities were nothing but attempting to survive. Now, their unique personas were shining through and Samantha was thrilled to get to be a part of getting to know them.

Samantha sat down on the floor, Micah on the floor in front of her as she listened to Nadya, a chuckle rising in her throat as she shook her head. "No, we haven't made it to the toaster yet. He doesn't... eat much. He's rather convinced that he doesn't need it. But I finally have him convinced that the tv isn't magical. And of course, he still won't step foot on the elevator. I took him on it once without thinking and he screamed. Rather loudly." The girl couldn't help the laugh that came from her lips. She'd grown fond of Dorian over the time they'd spent together. It was hard, sometimes, to not become frustrated as he struggled with seemingly simple tasks or acted like he was above her. But yet, he was endearing and Samantha... well, she loved him.

It was the suggestion of the other girls that caused Samantha's smile to fall, her head immediately shaking. She didn't know quite how to explain to Nadya that she didn't trust the faeries at the burlesque, even those that followed her. She couldn't help but worry that they were with Them. That they, too, were out to harm her. The paranoia that ran through the girl's every thought was so very real with them. She trusted so few people truly, especially the fae. And she would not, under any circumstances, put Dorian in that position. What if they tried to hurt him, too?

"No," She said firmly, her fingers moving to her lap in an attempt to hide the shaking that had become them as she struggled to breathe. Her thoughts were entirely on the words that Frost had given her, on the images that haunted her dreams. She squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head again. "I don't trust them."
