Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There was no denying the anticipation that so laced the Englishman's accented voice at the mention of the Wellington that he had seen so meticulously prepared nearly an hour before their arrival. The chefs had set aside a portion of meat solely for their consumption, staying late to so delicately craft that delectable creation and Sebastian had every intent of enjoying every morsel he was provided with. Still, he hadn't anticipated that his particular fondness for this particular dish to be so entirely obvious, to the point that his companion seemed to so effortlessly catch onto his decided want for what was to come. A nearly sheepish glimpse crossed the vampire's features as Dorian pointed out this very thing, a small, guilty simper crossed Sebastian's lips. "It is perhaps one of my favorite dishes." He admitted, a small shrug crossing his shoulders, "I could have introduced you to Yorkshire Pudding, which is what we are also truly known for, but there's little exciting about bread made without yeast other than how it is made." He was, perhaps, talking for the simple sake of it. It was so particularly rare that Sebastian divulged things as simple as his likes or interests outside of the walls of the bedroom that, even admitting something as simple as this saw the usually confident vampire nearly...bashful.
Thankfully, Sebastian was saved from any further lingering upon the topic by the serving of the meal itself. Plates were placed carefully in front of them, the dishes steaming with succulent smells that so reminded the vampire entirely of the city that forever more called to him and oh how he missed it. Still, the vampire's crystalline gaze but briefly glanced over the meal he was presented with. He could hardly deny that he was satisfied with the sheer appearance of what he was given and yet, his gaze so immediately searched for Dorian's own if only to reassure himself that this was perhaps liked too by the man he found himself so smitten with. His gaze lingered upon that enticing figure of the fae King, watching as the man so silently surveyed the foreign foods that Sebastian himself had eyed but moments ago. He watched as Dorian picked up the cutlery at their side before, briefly, the vampire's bright blue eyes met the silver ones of his lover. He offered his companion a small simper as he picked up his own fork and knife, letting it slice into the middle of the Beef Wellington before parting it in half to eye the color of the meat inside.
His own filet was quite purposefully rarer than that of his companion, appealing to his vampiric desires perhaps as much as his own mortal remembrance of something as decidedly delicious as this. It hardly took much effort to cut through the piece of meat, slicing off a small bite with pastry and mushrooms nestled delicately on his fork. He slipped it in his mouth, chewing on it to savor every minute morsel he had purchased. His gaze glanced up at the fae, watching the way in which Dorian copied the same actions as the vampire himself. He waited in silence, chewing his own next piece of fillet as he watched the man's reaction to the newest of firsts he had presented his lover with. A simper quickly found it's way upon the vampire's features as Dorian's face so lit up with the sheer novelty of it. "Good." Sebastian uttered in response, clearly too quite pleased that Dorian had found some enjoyment in this. As much as he hated to admit it, if the fae King had found this displeasing, it would have been far more disappointing than the vampire surely should let it. How, much less when, Dorian's opinions became so pivotal to him was entirely a mystery and yet, the simple fact was, it meant everything.
Sebastian's attention only briefly returned to his own meal until the sound that left Dorian's lips pulled at his attention. His gaze drifted upwards, his own hand moving briefly towards his wine glass to too sip on the robust flavors within that crystal flute. "I thought you might like it, this is perhaps one of the few things that have aged fantastically well. They have become rather adept at crafting it, these days." Gingerly he swirled the liquid within his cup and yet, the vampire had truly not considered that Dorian's tolerance for such an alcoholic beverage might not be as high as his own. In truth, he hardly would have cared either if he were so tasked with caring for the man after an overindulgence in the substance. Dorian was, perhaps, the only individual whom he'd see all the way through the intoxicating effects, should it so occur. Sebastian was, however, entirely content to fall silent in the moments after, to simply enjoy those moments within his lover's presence. In truth, he enjoyed those glimpses he so stole of the fairy King's profile as his gaze swept over the picturesque view afforded to them and yet, Sebastian's own eyes hardly drifted to the flora and fauna outside the window. All the beauty that existed outside those glass panes paled in comparison to the man that sat across from him, as decidedly cheesy as such a thought was.
A small simper tugged at the vampire's features at how entirely his thoughts had shifted to become so infatuated with the king, the vampire unaware of the way his lover's gaze lingered upon the waterfall within their view. It was Dorian's inquiry that drew his attention in the way that it so often did and yet, Sebastian's head bobbed but slightly. "It does..." He stated simply, his voice trailing off and yet, it entirely held a hint of suspicion within its depths. He knew, perhaps all too well, of the fae's efforts to gain some insight on what came next for their evening. "When you finish, I will take you there, but I won't answer any other questions about it until then." He offered, pointing his fork at the remains of Dorian's meal. After all, he had wanted this to be a surprise, despite the weeks that had passed since he had promised to take the monarch to that underwater gallery. Sebastian knew well there was entirely the possibility that, in his absence, Dorian had investigated with this Aquarium was and yet, despite the possibility of only being regaled in his efforts, Sebastian still intended to see this through.
