If anyone dared to claim that Raven was not carrying Tobias' child, she knew how she would prove it, well she had two ways. Could she telepathically share the very moment the two of them were in the process of creating their child? Yes, she absolutely could. At the very least, that would make people, like Azrael, be well aware that her mate was capable of performing such an act. Although it was probably a bit too graphic, and truth be told, she would be mortified to share such a personal memory. No, there was another way, one that wouldn't be too dramatic. Her hunger. Before she was pregnant, she had a somewhat normal appetite. After years of not having a typical diet, she was accustomed to eating very little and functioning all the same. Now...now...she was finding herself ravenous all the time. Clearly the little life she was carrying belonged to Tobias, the man had a stomach that could never be filled. The only other male she knew that had a similar condition, was the man she could hear call out for her as he entered the cabin. Snatching a cracker and cheese, she sweetly called out for him, popping the food into her mouth, and then turning around to grab a drink. Although he claimed he was okay she still had to offer him something. Grabbing two water bottles she turns around and placed them on the counter, and made her way over to his side. The last time they saw one another was the night their home sank...and that wasn't necessarily a memory she wanted to remember.
With a wide smile, she quietly opened her arms a little bit and gave him a very gentle hug, feeling quite content being close to him again. Raven was ashamed to admit it, but ever since they left the Ark, she had felt those invisible threads between herself and the rest of the pack start to loosen a little bit. Being close to her Alpha again, those threads seemed strong as they were when they were in the Ark. Taking a step back, and giving him his space again, she peered over his shoulder at the paper bag, tilting her head to the side in puzzlement. As he started talking about the diving team, she nodded, and she replied softly.
Circling around him she noticed the familiar shape of a book poking out from the bag. Looking back at him and then at the bag of books, she couldn't help but grin. Reading a book was her way to mentally escape everything. Not that she didn't enjoy spending time with her husband out here in the woods, but...it was a hobby of hers that she enjoyed. Ever since she was a little girl, those books were her ticket to leave this world and enter another one. Taking the first book out, she noticed the title didn't sound familiar, but looking at the stack of books below it, she noticed some did. Placing the book back in the bag she turned around and gave him another small grin.
Tetradore didn't have to buy her new books and bring them all the way up here. The young woman appreciated the gesture tremendously. Moving to the other side of her Alpha, she sat next to him, grabbing one of the turkey sandwiches to munch on, hoping it would silence the growl coming from her stomach. Chewing on her sandwich, she stared out one of the windows in her kitchen, seeing the familiar little trail that she and Tobias created when they started their daily adventures in the woods. What a loaded question. How had things been? She missed the one place she had ever called home. She missed their pack and friends. And now that she was pregnant, and no matter how many pregnant brochures she read at the office or the articles online, the whole experience was just...surreal. But even though she missed how things were back at home, she had to admit it was rather nice to spend time alone with her own mate, it was like a vacation. Her animal half was enjoying it too! Being near the woods was actually quite nice, peaceful almost. Swallowing her bite, she looked over at him for a moment, releasing a heavy sigh she had no idea she was holding in.
Pulling back from of her golden-brown curls behind her eat she took another bite of her sandwich. Apparently that first bite before did nothing but encourage her to eat more. After a few more bites she grabbed the water to drink it. Picking up another sandwich, she looked over at him, as she asked how he was holding up. After all...he was their Alpha, he lost his territory, his pack was split, the home he built was gone. If any of them were in pain, perhaps, he was in pain the most. It was important, she thought, that he talk about it too. It would help for her to know how he was...before she told him just why she and Tobias needed to relieve their anxiety and stress.
