South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hold on to this lullaby; even when the music's gone

She is determined to even translate just a little bit of this text; she wasn't even quite sure what type of text it was. For all she knew it was a book on history or some boring lecture but still she was determined to understand just a fraction. But she somehow didn't think it would work, without even a few words for reference she was playing a losing battle. She was almost welcome for the distraction of those footsteps. It would take her away from her frustration and cause her to focus on something else besides her increasing anxiety.

She is sure that she shouldn't be let out of the house, the way she was unable to detect even this danger to her life even after doing a perimeter check. But it was her inability to know the dangers and what to look for; it was that she didn't have the ability or training. So when the woman approaches quickly, she doesn't have any time really react, "You can't justâ€"" She wants to tell her that it's probably rude to even suggest such a thing. There was no name on the bench to claim it, so how did she have the right to say so. But her words are cut off as the woman reaches for her and tugs her off the bench.

She keeps a hold of the book until the last moment when she is being forced to back up, the book falls from her grip as the earth rumbles in front of her. It crumbles then, pushing down into the earth and all she can say is "Oh!" Her previous indignation is forgotten as it caves in and there is that overwhelming scent of silver and she is stepping forward gingerly to peer into the hole. She knows now that the bench had been covering the scent of the spikes, when she is satisfied that all was well now, she scurried back and picked up the book. She is so focused on it at first, to give her hands something to do before she looks back up at the woman, "Iâ€"did not know that, thank you. I'm Claire," She says, not even putting two and two together.
