Blue-grey eyes watched as Alexis entered the library that Tetradore had fixed up for her. The first few months the lupine had a different book in her hand as she settled to read in different areas. There wasn't a good spot for her to read that didn't get in the way of others. Sitting down within the fighting arena didn't provide her peace and quiet to focus on her book. The staff constantly roamed around that area getting the place set up in time for the fights. Reading a book in the kitchen wasn't the greatest either, because she could hear the chefs prepping for the many dishes that would be served those nights. Hiding in her bedroom made it appear she was anti-social, even if it brought her some peace and quiet to read. The Were-Panther was kind enough to surprise her with a little book-haven sanctuary. There was an unused room that had a few comfy old leather chairs collecting dust. With a new rug, tall bookshelves and paint the room looked brand new! Raven appreciated his thoughtful gesture and easily filled those empty shelves with all sorts of books. Alexis' thought of Heathcliff making him a Were made the lupine laugh gently as she shook her head in disagreement.
"Heathcliff a Were? Just because there are canine analogies doesn't mean he is a Were. Most see him as a vampire. Vampires and Were creatures are similar to one another, even if there are those within our species that think strongly otherwise."
Gothic literature had been one of her favorite genres she had stumbled upon. Each story was different, complex, and fun. They told of tales of different individuals cursed in one manner or another. Some held a dark lesson where the hero of the tale lost while others held a universal lesson and the hero won, but wasn't unscathed from the trauma they experienced. Alexis seemed to enjoy those more romantic novels and Raven assumed perhaps she might like some of these gothic romantic stories too, even if their ending wasn't always happy. The she-wolf was pleased to hear her friend was nearly done with the book. Placing the old-worn book in her lap she grabbed her golden tea cup again, taking a sip of the tea, after she inquired why her friend was here within the Ark.
"Why aren't you outside enjoying the warmer weather and sun?"
Raven Cain.
