East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha Cassidy

At the notion that she should, perhaps, be more selective in who she chose to join her Monarchy, Samantha merely laughed. "I am a queen, am I not meant to be persistent?" It was a tease, of course, the girl willing to latch on to that instead of the challenge that the man had offered up to Dorian. If there was one thing that Samantha remained entirely sure of, it was that her second's position was entirely secure. There was - perhaps excluding Aiden Tetradore - no one in the world that she trusted as much as Dorian. Dorian had been the sole person that had made Samantha trust her own species. If there were faeries as kind as Dorian in the world, then they couldn't all be so bad. Dorian was someone who could bring out such happiness within the faerie girl. "As for your value, I think you'll have to find a way to impress me without challenging Dorian. If you can do that and be kind to him, then the offer to join me is here for you." It was perhaps the most civil she could imagine being. If the man was unkind to Dorian, there would be no hope for Samantha to allow him near and dear to her.

It is the question of her childhood that seemed to distract the young woman. The very question of those dreams were enough to draw out the happy looks and smiles from the girl - her mind entirely forgetting the heights that had prodded at her fears. She could still visualize everything about her bedroom in that high rise apartment as though she'd seen it yesterday and not years before. "I suppose that your affinity for flight would make you enjoy the sky, no?" She teased, flashing him a brilliant smile. She tilted her head to the side as she considered his next words before, ultimately, she shook her head. "No, I have no desire to finish school. I'm not human, and I need to accept that." Even saying it, the words caused a twinge of pain in her stomach. How she wanted to be human. But she wasn't, and she would never be again. "I sew a bit now, design a little more. That is enough for me."

It was his next question that had the girl faltering in her steps. Her smile faded and she dropped her gaze from him. "No," She said firmly, shaking her head. "No, I... I have no desire to go home and back to that." It was a lie, of course. She missed her family dearly - though the ache of it was becoming less and less as she made her home in Sacrosanct. "I tried to go home once. I couldn't even make it past our pet cat. She could tell something was off with me. That I wasn't quite right anymore." She pushed her hair out of her face. "So I waited until they were gone and I snuck in and grabbed what clothes and money I could, and then I took off. I won't go back. I... I looked it up once and they think I'm dead. Going back now would be impossible." She sighed. "Especially when I haven't aged a day in six years." She shook her head, suddenly looking at the ground.

"I think I'd like to stop dancing now," The woman said very softly, looking up at him desperately. "I..." She wanted to have her feet on solid ground once more. She felt nothing like the Fae Queen she was at the moment, but rather a scared young girl. "Please?"
