The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I would be lying if I said I was irritated at all by the way she clings to me in fear as we look out over the river. I know that she knows she's immortal and she's not even going to feel the sting of impact or the cold temperature of the water when we hit the surface. I still recall her piercing fear when we stood on that cliff and I asked her to jump with me. It was a night I'll never forget. So now I ask her once more to fly with me, to dive into the lake. Her soft voice makes my lips tug into a soft smile, affection only for her glowing in my eyes. "You can do this." I coax her before jumping off the bridge.
We hit the water and our hands separate but I have a chance to see her floating so peacefully under the surface before I do what I've gotta do. It's a magical sight really. If I were human, I'd probably be paniking that she's not going to catch her breath and drown but luckily I don't have to worry about that. She can have her peace and tranquility as long as she wants and will never need to draw breath. Gives a whole new meaning to snorkeling. When I do return and come to the surface, I draw her in close and kiss her lips. Her voice is a turn on as it always is, my eyes twinkling with love as I smirk. "Then I'll be sure to say it as often as possible."
She looks positively delighted at the feast laid out for her, giving me a "come hither" look with a beckoning of her finger as she settles on the blanket and reaches for the wine. I chuckle under my breath and do as asked, taking a seat across from her as I grab a glass. I grow thoughtful for a moment as I lift my glass. "To an unpredictable future that I'll enjoy every minute of as long as I have you."
