The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Yumi loved to help and Damon wanted her help with this. He knew that she thought highly of Isolt and she was one of the most vampires he knew when it came to the coven. If anyone else would lay their life on the line for his fiance, it was Yumi. He wanted her to be in the loop and he genuinely wanted her input. Sure, he might have put weeks, even months into research on the coven but he would never turn down a new set of eyes on the books. Maybe she would see things from a different angle, catch something he might have missed. He never admitted to being perfect. She listened carefully to what he had to say and he could see something soft in her eyes when he said that he wouldn't let anything happen to Isolt. He made him think about the fact she didn't have anyone past friends, but he knew in time that would change. Yumi was a good hearted woman and she would find someone to appreciate her, he was sure of it. He knew that he could count on her to do some hard research on the coven and bring him back something he could work with. He nodded in answer when she said that she would see what she could find. He was satisfied with that. He tried to joke with her about living with Isolt but something seemed to make her expression falter. All of a sudden, her gaze was averted and the tension in the air picked up some. His lips tugged into a thoughtful scowl, hoping he hadn't said anything wrong. Should he not joke like that with her? She told him that she was sure they would figure it out and he smiled. "WITH YOU ON MY TEAM, I HAVE NO DOUBT." His eyes twinkled. Then he went to buy her book for her, noting her discomfort when he came back with the book. He glanced over his shoulder at the cashier, trying to follow Yumi's gaze but when he looked, the cashier pointedly looked away as if caught staring. His brow raised in puzzlement but he wasn't about to jump into women drama. She thanked him for the book and he smiled in response, asking if she's hungry. She looked up at him in surprise and repeated it back to him, her eyes inquisitive. He nodded patiently, letting her consider before she said that she guessed she was hungry. She seemed very hesitant and he found himself wondering just how often she was feeding. "THEN LET'S GET YOU SOME FOOD. WHAT ARE YOU IN THE MOOD FOR? FANCY, CASUAL, BOOKISH?" His brow raised teasingly on the last word, even throwing a casual glance over his shoulder again at the cashier who seemed to make Yumi so uncomfortable. If it would give her any satisfaction, he would make that cashier dance for her then lay herself out on a bookshelf like a platter for Yumi's amusement. He was never above cheering up a friend. He noticed her looking around, even noted the different look she gave the cashier before she asked him if they could go elsewhere. He shrugged. "MY TREAT SO SURE, IF YOU WANT TO GO." He aquiesed, wondering why she was so adamant about leaving. Just a minute ago, she was in heaven being here. He was really starting to wonder what that cashier had done to upset her so. His protective streak was kicking in big time. |
