The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Englishman was aware, in some sense, of that gaze in which she so presented to him, entirely dubious in its nature. He supposed he could hardly fault her with the fashion in which Sebastian so attempted to flee from those pursuers rather than face them head on with that deadliness their kind was certainly made for. Sebastian abhorredcaring far more then he surely should have. Sebastian so often accepted defeat more readily then he picked up arms, particularly when doing so might promise the 'saving' of another, be it by their physical safety or emotional well being. And yet, it was that very fault that so prompted him to flee tonight - right into her arms. To so utilize her strengths to make up for his weaknesses - all because he could not simply leave Dorian by himself. It was a silly notion and yet, it was entirely the truth.
Sebastian made an effort to provide her with what information he had of their abilities and yet, she hardly even flinched at the concern that surely laced his own voice. Where Sebastian had found himself faltering, she seemed to meet that threat with a kind of eagerness that caused the Englishman's eyebrows to furrow. He had always been unsettled by that unnatural willingness his species often conveyed to throw themselves within harm's way, to so toy with those they intended to kill, not that he could incredibly fault even her. They were near akin to demons at their very core, that brutal nature one they even he, at times, had difficulty suppressing. Softly, he voiced his own simple knowledge that those men fully intended to harm him and yet, that frown that so graced her features stirred a peculiar sensation within the man. He yearned to see a simper light up her feminine face, even if he had a sneaking suspicion that such was entirely as improbably as seeing another sunrise. Still, his fingers delicately reached out to caress her cheek, her own fingers rose to rest but gently upon his own, that exchanged moment far more intimate than that simple brush of hands should be. How...utterly intense those feelings were he was capable of producing by temporarily gifting his soul to another.
Those peculiar desires to protect her, however, were quickly squashed by the vampire, as he once again reminded himself that those feelings were synthetic ones he had created within both of them. They would, ultimately, be but temporary. That resoluteness to her tender tones was hardly missed by the Englishman as he presented the woman with a weak simper, unable to stop the guilt that invaded his soul at her assurance that she would see to his safety. "Thank you, love." He uttered softly, his touch retreating only as she so pivoted to face head on the hunters that would soon be coming. That possessiveness within her voice, even as it was so muttered beneath her breath, had a fashion of provoking a warm simper upon his features. It had been...truly far longer than he cared to admit since anyone so desired to make him theirs, even knowing all that he was capable of doing and all that he was. Even Dorian had scarcely voiced those very words, his lover's actions far more subtle than those raw sensations that typical ran through his own kind. It was endearing, really, the way she so faced the men who would shortly be coming around that corner so fearlessly...all for him.
Even Sebastian hardly anticipated the large slithering creature that fluttered into existence before them, the fantastical creature unfurling its wings and parted it's jaws to reveal those ivory incisors that put even their own sharply pointed canines to shame. His lips parted in unexpected awe, those navy blue eyes fluttered upwards towards the head of the massive beast in all of it's ravenous glory. "Bloody hell." The words were uttered softly under his breath, his eyes widening ever so slightly in the process. This he had never even dreamed possible when he'd selected her from that throng. It was but mere chance, and a good dose of fortune, really, that had prompted the man's decision and yet, surely, even those ignorant souls who hunted him might have been inclined to pause in the presence of that magnificent creature.
Those very men rounded the corner but moment's later, their quick walk ground to a halt the very second that serpentine creature so rose to face them, lunging with a hiss upon it's lips. That very speed was met with a quick backwards jump from the dragon's intended prey, that movement so matching the creature's own in a fashion that saw Sebastian's eyebrows furrow. That brick wall that was built up behind them, so effectively limiting their escape was only regarded with a small backwards glance. They were, it seemed, just as steadfast in their hunt for him as the woman before him was to defending him. It was the presence of those snakes, however, that brought any first real reaction from the pair, those Italian curse words falling from the first man's lips as those fangs nipped at his heels, the man desperate to crush their heads beneath the weight of his boots. The second fellow, however, hardly seemed bothered by it at all, his entire lower body slowly became encased with a crackling stone like material more resembling some sort of natural golem of sorts. Those teeth, he was assured, could hardly strike through his now rock skin. The third, however, was all too willing to jump to that sweet voice, that near speed Sebastian had warned her of was so utilized in that moment to out do those grounded snakes, the man merely disappearing within the blink of an eye before appearing once again with an all too delighted smirk upon his features. "I think I'll take your boyfriend, Aaron, take care of her will you?" That stone man stepped forward, his foot thudding against the cement as his first collided with a crashing sound into the palm of his other hand, the fellow clearly delighted with the opportunity to demonstrate his own capabilities as he advanced, without fear, upon that dragon and the woman standing beneath it. That nimble hunter disappeared but seconds later, so prompting those red ribbons from Sebastian's own fingers. Those strings of fate were held loosely in his palms, altogether prepared for what would come next - this definitely wasn't going to be good.
