East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Knowing him for a short period of time she had done a pretty good job of figuring out his numerous quirks. It is possible that perhaps because she was a creature that thought as her own sub-species it was easy to tell when his mind was reacting to the outer world with his primal feline drives. Managing to keep the waitress and any other potential victim from feeling his fury, she guided him through the various patrons sitting in the room, keeping a watchful eye on him. She was used to the horrid stares, not flinching when their unwanted eyes traveled up on her face, but there was a sense of uneasiness when they would glare at her unruly companion behind her. As they sat at the darkened corner of the entire restaurant unbothered with the fact that they had given them a booth far too big for their particular party, she took the menu gently from the waitress. Bending her own head down to take a look at which meal she would like to take she felt a sudden draft of air as the lamented paper slammed into her face. Looking up puzzled, she saw his menu land over hers noticing the distaste as he confessed to one of his numerous...flaws. Getting up from her side of the table she would slowly slide into his own booth, placing the menu in front of them, as he bluntly ordered to her fix this problem. With a kind smile thrown his way, one finger would be placed upon the laminated paper, soft voice slowly pouring from her lips in an easy fashion, all to help him understand.

"That is okay. Here....we will look at the menu together and when the waitress comes we'll place our order."

Blue-grey shifted upwards to meet his own dark hues piercing between his dark locks, briefly she would stare into them, before bringing them back to the menu. Knowing full well he would rather eat a course where the main dish was meat, she would fold the menu to that section, softly calling out the dish's name and just what exactly would come with the meal, her fingers rolling underneath the words. Even though he could not read, she was at least pointing them out trying to help him stay focused and feel like everyone else. With a grin, she would tap on the menu with one finger pointing at a dish she assumed he would find to his liking.

"I think you will like this one, it is called the Top Chief Sirloin, you get a 12 oz sirloin, and your sides can be vegetables, mash potatoes, or French fries."

Pulling some of her golden curls behind her ear, her head would lift upwards an easy smile given to him, waiting to hear if he would accept this particular dish. Many of the meat dishes sound delicious, but it had complicated sounding sauces or spices most likely not making sense to him. For such a complicated creature he was prone to enjoy the simple things, if only because they were easy to understand. As his long fingers reached out to pluck the napkins out from their metal container, she would gently swipe the container away from him when his attention was on her for a moment. Placing the napkin dispenser back in place, once he would stop taking the napkins out, her pink lips would pull back into a small smile nodding her head some.

"Yes, I can make it stop being... scratchy, if you give me a chance back at the warehouse."

She had used her term for 'itchy' changing it for his own benefit, subtly showing that she could make minor adjustments for his benefit. Picking up the spare napkins he had casted upon their table, she would neatly fold them up, piling them atop one another, trying to clean up his mess. A very soft sigh came out of her when she noticed his focus was now upon the sugar packets. Shaking her head she helplessly watched him start to devour the items, quietly taking the wrappers he hadn't eaten yet into her hand. Before she could kindly correct him and attempt to steer his unruly behavior into something more appropriate, she was interrupted by the presence of the waitress. Gently she would tap Tobi's shoulder giving him a grin and tilting her head to the side as she turned her upper torso towards the waitress kindly giving her order.

"Yes, I will have your Fancy Filet, cooked medium-rare and the sides can be fries, thank you."

Leaning a bit closer to Tobi she would grab the menu and place her finger on the item she assumed he would like. Helping him act normal, without letting the waitress know he cannot read, she would whisper softly what he should tell their impatient waitress.

"Tobi...kindly tell the waitress you would like the sirloin cooked rare, and fries and mash potatoes as your sides."

Whether he did it correctly or not she would have the menu tilted to the side, allowing the waitress to see exactly what Tobi was trying to order. As soon as Tobi was finished she would politely grab the other menu and give it to the waitress, speaking with a firmer tone this time- subtly implying that if the waitress did not wish for Tobi to continue his antics it would be wise if she followed her order.

"And I think my friend here will stop eating the sugar packets if you would be kind enough to bring us some onion rings?"

As soon as the waitress left to process their order she would slide herself off his side of the booth and return to her former position grabbing the glass of ice water and taking a sip. There were a few vocal grumblings from their fellow patrons saying what they wished about Tobi, but she ignored them, trying not to focus on the dark glared casted to their direction. With a small grin she would look to Tobi as a bowl of onion rings was slammed on their table, speaking gently all the while ignoring their waitress.

"Tobi, how about you eat the onion rings instead of the sugar packets? I did promise to them you would be on your best behavior."

Everyone should be grateful, like her, that he was only playing with napkins and eating sugar packets...really...he could do so much worse.
