East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

If it would not have been considered a highly inappropriate question she would surely have been inclined to ask just how his digestive system worked. After all, she found the very nature of science fascinating and while she truly held a fear of his fangs and had little desire to ever see them again she is also given to wonder at them, how they work, how he can even digest food if blood- like a leech- is designed to be his major source of food. In fact, how his system functioned at all was something quite remarkable and truly if there was some sort of polite way to inquire about it she would have been given to ask him the myriad of question that seemed to wander and dance through her mind as he simply paused to dip his biscuit before lifting it to his lips. For a moment the slender young woman offered a delicate frown of sorts, what she knew of manners assuring her that dunking any biscuit really was not proper and yet she simply found she enjoyed this momentary quirk to his personality. Maybe he wasn't nearly so old as she had thought, then again estimating his age had so far proven to be a rather fruitless endeavour in itself.

His polite comment sees at least seems to earn him another grin as she moves to seat herself, nibbling softly at her own biscuit, busy mind continuing to piece together what she knew of her gentleman caller, half given to wonder if perhaps he held some sort of....mind reading ability. The very thought saw a new flash of colour touch her features at the knowledge he may well possesses some sort of power like the vampires on television and in movies and truly she felt rather unnerved by the notion, green eyes narrowing slightly before pushing the thought away. If he could read minds, she is sure, he would have already said something to indicate as much. He would also stop dunking his biscuit in wake of her disapproval of the gesture though her features offered no such indication. At his mention of work she pauses to lift her own cup to her lips, savouring the taste as she regarded him, enjoying to warmth in her hands and the feeling of security that seemed to result from having a solid table between them, despite the fact she is entirely sure that he is more the capable of bridging that gap should he so desire. For tonight however, she was at least content in the knowledge he seemed more interested in his biscuit then in her and that in itself is a point in his favour.

"The army? Were you ever in any wars?"

That, she thinks, is not a terribly impolite question and one she is clearly interested in, the chance to at least gauge his age one readily taken as those soft green eyes find his own in the moments his grin seems all the more sly, the girl afforded a slight flutter somewhere within herself, assured entirely that is must simply be the result of being in the company of someone so dangerous. She is, she is sure, being quite daring tonight and really she looks forward to seeing her friends looks when she tells them of this great act of bravery. They all thought her boring after all, boring and dull and homely, her dedication to study clearly unappreciated by her peers and yet what others thought of her had truly never mattered all that much.

"It isn't that awful nightclub on the Westside is it? Syn? It's very tacky, or at least I think so. Some of the other students like daring each other to go in there on occasion. I'd like to see the panther and the leopard that supposedly live there, purely for scientific purposes, but that is it's only allure."

The bluntness of her statement seems to catch even her off guard, the girl hurriedly looking down once more, busying herself with arranging her tea cup and saucer before moving to quickly change the subject.

"If you're not entirely adverse to it, I'd love to ask you just one more question and then you are entirely free to go back to your business without having to rescue me."

She paused only briefly, offering him a moment to interject before continuing.

"The only things I know about vampires have come from television and the few things I've heard here and there so I'm sorry if these questions have seemed childish to you but I was wondering are you...cold? As in, is your skin cold?"
