The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Cheese. There was so much that one could do with that savory gift given by the bovine species with their nutrient-rich milk. There were many things that the young woman loved about cows actually, except of course their smell which was naturally thin with the essence of manure. Which is just gross. Their milk, the cheeses that could be made from the sweet and creamy produce... Cakes and baked goods of all sorts, decadent chocolates... Oh, and let's not forget about ice cream and specialty coffees! She could go on and on about the flavors she loved and despite the fact that her small one bedroom apartment was fragrant with the tantalizing smell of scrambled eggs cooking in the non-stick pan alongside the salty-savory essence of sausage links warming in the microwave as, Beylani found herself in a desperate craving for some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream as she stirred the nearly finished breakfast she was preparing for herself. And who else would be waiting just as eagerly as the blonde girl with milk chocolate undertones other than the purring tortoiseshell cat sitting elegantly and in perfect poise at her human's feet? She knew entirely all too well that when Beylani made breakfast in the morning, that meant that she would get to partake in such indulgences as she was always given a saucer with a couple pieces of the scrambled egg smothered in cheese (even though Beylani made sure there wasn't too much higher cheese as she also was aware of the effect that it could have on her best friend's digestive system and ultimately make for an unpleasantly odiferous cleaning of her litter pan). A little never hurt after all.
Once her breakfast has finally finished cooking, she carefully scrapes out the scramble and opens the microwave to place the two sausage links beside the golden directives. A small "mrrow" is heard amongst the instrumental music that fills the otherwise quiet apartment as Beylani's favorite music station plays a beautiful yet lively violin piece and the young woman looks down at the excited she-cat who now begins rubbing against her pajama sweatpants, a smile dancing across her lips."Alright, alright", she says to Chika as she opens the cupboard overhead to grab a small dessert plate and places a few large curds of scrambled egg onto it. She then moves over to the futon beside the window with thin white linen curtains opened wide to let the overcast light pour in and places the smaller plate on the floor beside her (the small plate not without company for more than a few seconds as the tortoiseshell quickly goes to it and eagerly begins to eat) before making herself comfortable, navy blue coffee mug sitting on the coffee table in front of her."Bon apetit", she says to the eating cat with a soft note of laughter. Picking up her fork, she digs in blissfully, breakfast being by far her favorite meal of the day. Hell, she could eat breakfast foods for morning, day, and night without getting tired of it. It doesn't take long before her plate is spotless, Chika's also showing no trace that scrambled eggs had ever existed. Licking her lips with that bristled pink tongue of hers, belly full of goodness, she then moves over the the window and leaps up with grave onto the sill to begin her morning sunbathing session while grooming her paws as running them over her face. The way she so often sat in that window sill how with light only made her look even more picture perfect. Ah, but the camera was in the bedroom currently and Beylani wanted to finish the last of her coffee before she had to get up and start getting ready for another day in the big city.
As she sits there in relaxed serenity, coffee mug clasped gently in her hands while baby blues stared outside towards the distant building that seemed to go on forever, she recalls the conversation she had had with her mother last night... It had started with her mother asking what felt like one-hundred questions about how she was settled in, if all her boxes were unpacked, if she needed anything for when the girl's parents came to visit, if she had met anyone or made any friends yet to keep her company... The list goes on and on, but Beylani knew that the barrage of questions were simply out of love and concern so she had answered them all honestly while ensuring her dear mother that she was happy and well. However, the one thing she didn't mention to her mother was the dark-haired stranger she'd met on her first day in Sacrosanct. Maybe another time... But what her mother and her and spoken a good bit on was what the young bachelorette was going to do for income. She had yet to establish a name for herself here as far as photography was concerned and so she would definitely need at least a part time job to make ends meet. Her mother and father had insisted and paying for her rent as groceries until she was fully self-sufficient but Beylani had declined. She had a decent sized nest egg built up in her savings with money she worked diligently to accumulate through small shoots and her chores, but when her grandfather had passed away a few years ago, she had also earned a portion of funds from what he had left his "favorite granddaughter" in his will. So, she had a reasonable amount of time to work on her name as well as ensuring her account didn't diminish by finding a job. Surely someone had to be hiring in this big city. With mug emptied and breakfast through, Beylani gathers up her dirty dishes and walks into the kitchen where she begins to absentmindedly washes her dishes and sets them on the rack beside the sink to dry, looking up at the ticking clock on the wall. 8:12am. Time to get ready for job hunting. And she knew just the place she would start.
Showered, hair tended to, and dressed in her favorite floral print blouse as well as black dress pants and black flats, she grab her affects and makes her way to the front door of her apartment. Opening the door, she glances over her shoulder to see Chika dozing peacefully on the window sill as she'd been since breakfast."Be good, Missy. I shouldn't be too awfully long" she speaks in bright farewell to her feline companion as she so often does. Beylani then closes and locks the behind her and makes the quick descent down the flight of stairs and into the concrete sidewalk where her white four door sedan awaits her a few parking spaces down the row of apartment residents she has yet to meet. Climbing into the car and buckling her seatbelt as she'd always been taught, she puts the key into the ignition and carefully pulls out of her spot and turns left onto one of the many streets with one particular destination in mind. Inner Sanctum. If nothing else, she could at least park there while she scoured the east side of Sacrosanct for a new job. For the first time, she was able to confidently drive through th3 city, taking various turns here and there, arriving at the café without having gotten lost or driving past it as she did the first few times she'd come here. Silently she gives herself a figurative pat on the back to celebrate her miniscule victory as she parks her car, glancing at the digital timeclock and acknowledging fleetingly that it was now 9:36am, and then gets out to walk the usual block-long trek to the entrance of Inner Sanctum, being sure to lock her car simply because this place was not at all like Willowhaven and there was no telling what might happen. With her purse slung over her right shoulder and the crisp fall winds running through loose blonde curls, she walks leisurely along all the while trying not to get her hopes of. When she is standing at the door, left hand reaching for the door handle, baby blue eyes find a sign in the window."Help Wanted". Looks like the coffee gods were looking out for me after all, she muses silently the herself before opening the door and stepping inside. This would be the first time that she was visiting this place for more than a cup of warm and envigorating bliss. Suddenly feeling nervous but in the same moment doing her best to be as confident as she was on most days, she walks up to the woman who always made her coffee so delicious, busily working on a couple's order. She clears her throat quietly."Excuse me? So sorry to interrupt you, but I was hoping to speak to the owner... Are they in today?", Beylani inquires softly and politely. She can't really recall seeing many others save from this woman and another young barista, and just maybe this woman was the manager. There was no telling really, so she waits ever patient and hopeful that she didn't seem too rude in asking so directly.
