East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tetradore nodded in agreement when she spoke of the meeting they'd had on the Ark. It had gotten more than a little tense when Raven started crying and asking for forgiveness because she couldn't believe that Tetradore was really alive. There was such a mixture of emotions in the room that day. Tobias seemed exited to have his alpha back, giving him his title as if it was as easy as giving him a toy. Alexis knew enough about Were packs to know giving someone a title like that didn't just happen. It was a physical thing, something you had to really want. It never really happened. Most alphas would die in a fight rather than give up their alphaship and yet Tobias had given it back to Tetradore as if he knew his friend belonged there. It was a big moment. The tiger that had been there seemed confused the whole time, trying to offer Raven support while showing Tetradore that there was still trust there. It all got very confusing and there was way too much emotion. Alexis knew she needed to get away and so she had.

Tetradore seemed to understand, saying that things got weird. She laughed softly. "That's one way to put it." When she mentioned the cafe, she noted that Tetradore scowled like he was thinking about something. But he chose not to voice it so she shrugged it off. He gave her a short answer when she told him what she'd been up to and when she asked about Raven, he told her the Ark was fine. She raised a brow. It seemed like short answers but maybe that was all he was going to give. Then he gave some news she wasn't aware of. Tobias and her...getting married? Her eyes widened in shock before she composed herself. "Oh! I...I didn't know. We haven't talked as much since I left the Ark." She looked away for a moment. Her relationship with Tobias had been strained ever since he shot at her with the harpoon gun. She'd never confronted him about it and so she sort of quit talking to him. He had never tried to find her so she figured he either wasn't sorry or didn't think much of it. She couldn't help but hold a little bit of a grudge over someone trying to take her life though.

She nodded, sure that Tetradore wanted more of an answer. "Yes, I'll do that. I'll see if I can contact her." She would come if Raven really wanted her to, for her, not for him. She almost expected the conversation to peeter off after that but Tetradore surprised her by bringing something else up. He said that there was a place for her at the Ark. Her eyes snapped up to his, trying to read his expression. Did he mean that she could live on the Ark again or something more? She had to ask. She offered a thoughtful scowl. "It was great, don't get me wrong. I appreciate everything you did for me, offering me a place even when you didn't trust me. I know that was a big leap for you." Her eyes softened. "Thank you, really. I just don't know if I'd feel right living there and not being in the pack. It's like being an outsider thrust into a clique you don't really feel a part of. I'm not asking you for that or anything. I understand you have your reasons. I get it. It just didn't feel like home. I was still alone." She kept his gaze as she spoke, wanting him to understand that these were her genuine thoughts and feelings.

There was a time when she might have tried to play it off or made up a bad excuse but this was her being open and honest. He deserved that. She did really appreciate what he did. She knew he was trusting Raven's judgement instead of his own. He thought she still held ties to Frost. She hadn't seen him since she first got back into Sacrosanct but she couldn't bank on him to trust her word. She needed to gain his trust. She just didn't know how.
